I know it sounds absurd to describe this book as fun, but it was a very enjoyable story. The characters were brilliantly fleshed out, and the plot was mostly realistic. If you are entertained by witty teenage humor, sarcastic but not necessarily negative, then you will probably get a kick out of the dialogue in this book. Granted, the topic of childrens cancer is not a cheery topic, and illness and death are a large part of this story. However, to me, this book is more about living than about dying.

I got this book on sale, and I didn't really read the summary very well before purchasing it. I was expecting more of a historical fiction novel, and this was a romance novel. Therefore, even though I hated this book, I wouldn't say that it's horrible. If you like romance novels, you might like this one. The overall plot was good, but I didn't like the sappy dialogue at all and thought it took away from the story.

This book was so funny. If you like Jill Conner Browne's books, you will probably like this one too. I laughed out loud many times during this book. It hit pretty close to home. Her narration is a bit flat, but I didn't really mind. Funny woman, funny book.

I wanted to like this bizarre crime mystery, and I really did like it for awhile. I was even willing to overlook the narration, which was artificially dramatic in my opinion. The storyline had me pulled in for many hours, but somehow I started getting lost. The characters started running together. I got the sense that I should have been tying together plotlines but I wasn't. I think that was part of the reason that I didn't really care to try to figure out the identify of the murderer. If the reader doesn't care who did it, then there's not much point in listening to a mystery. I also didn't think actual people would behave in the ways that these characters did. Some of them didn't seem very bright. My last complaint is that the main character uses the term "my twin" about a gazillion times to describe his brother. I completely understood the two men were twins from the beginning, so this got really old. Most twins do not repeatedly refer to their twin as "my twin" in normal conversation. I think it would have been fine to simply refer to the character as "my brother" or by his name more often. I would not purchase this book again.

This book was really not my cup of tea. After reading the summary, I was excited about hearing this one. However, as the story unfolded, I thought it was unbelievable and boring. Most of the characters were dull, and the plot was ridiculous as well. It is surprising to me that so many people enjoyed this story. I'm truly stumped by this book's popularity.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed the beginning of this book which I had assumed I would hate. However, it didn't take long to see the problems with the way the author portrayed the Christian God. In my opinion, this book skewed, misinterpretted, and in many cases, completely misrepresented the Christian God. I did find that there were also some very good ideas in the story, and there were several ways that the author described aspects of Christianity that really clarified some theological ideas for me. So, I can't say that the entire book is garbage; however, I would say that this book shouldn't be used by a non-Christian or a new Christian to get an accurate picture of God. I would recommend that anyone who reads this book also read reviews and discussions from mature Christians to ensure that the reader doesn't grasp onto false ideas.

The information in this book is very helpful if you are willing to accept the possibility that your behavior could use a little fine-tuning, and if you are willing to follow the advice in the book. The information contained in the book is nothing exceptionally profound, and that's exactly why I was surprised by how well it works when applied to everyday situations. This book is definitely worth a listen for those who think they are being the best marriage partners they can be - you might just find out, as I did, that you're not.

This story was not an easy listen for me, because it made me constantly consider my own views of our country's immigration laws. One moment I wanted to cheer for the main character, and in the next moment, I was angry with her. She had so many admirable traits, but there were also some times that I felt she and others in her social circle were abusing the privileges extended to them. Ironically, I can't say that I wouldn't behave the same way were I in their positions. I cannot count the number of times that I felt thankful to be born an American as I listened to this story.
Overall, the story line was interesting. Many of the characters, though perhaps not exactly likeable, were performed very well. This was an easy listen on the surface, but I think it should make a person examine his/her own prejudices and thoughts about immigration.

This was a great summer listen. I enjoyed the unique plot, and I thought the writer had some great, new ideas in this story line. The characters were extremely easy to follow, and the narrator was very good at differentiating between them. The narrator did a wonderful job of bringing out the humor in this work of fantasy fiction. The character of the leading dog, Miss Piggy, was especially entertaining and very well performed. I would recommend this story to anyone who has ever wondered what goes on in the mind of his or her own pet.
