"Can this man write a bad book?"
Starts fast, stays fast, and like most Perry novels, comes up with a totally unique premis.
"Best Lee Child / Jack Reacher Book Yet"
I think my headline says it all. This book had everything we love about Jack Reacher in spades. Really kept me guessing!
"Great Quick Listen"
Really well narrated. Worth twice the price just to hear the actors and actresses preform.
"Can Demille write a bad book?"
Apparently not! And, they all are different. No common formula etc. How does he dream this stuff up? Starts fast stays fast, in that sense it's classic DeMille, if there is such a thing.
"Great Sequel!!"
Do listen to Gold coast first. DeMille himself considered it his best work. Like most DeMille books it's nothing like any other. I couldn't put either book down!
"A Must Read for anyone interested in Viet Nam"
As usual, DeMille grabs your interest in the first paragraph and holds it till the last line. Always a different plot too. If I have any complaint it is that voiced by Robert Lewis Stephenson after reading Crime and Punishment; upon completion, I felt like I finally recovered from a near fatal illness. But, I couldn't put it down.
"Grrreat Storrry!"
Note that my title is an attempt at sounding Scottish. This story not only takes place in Scotland but it is read by an actual Scot. Perhaps she has a Glasgow accent with a bit of "Cockney" English but a great and intriguing accent that grows on you as the book proceeds. Don't put this one down too soon, give it time to grow and you will love it. Interestingly, this is one of the only books written and read by a woman that I've ever really loved. It is NOT a "Chick Book" even if she is a single mother with the usual weepy moments about her son!
"DeMille just can't write a bad book!"
My title says it all. His books start fast and stay fast. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat for sure. What amazes me is that all his books are different, not just similar plots warmed over.
"Sorry Thomas!"
I didn't know Thomas Perry could write a boring book. I had to quit half way through when it skipped several chapters between part 1 & part 2 but I was ready to quit. Great premis that just didn't hold my attention like a Perry novel usually does. It talked about "feelings" so much I thought a woman wrote it. Also the reader, a lady, just could not make her voice sound like a man so she should have just read without "acting". Sorry Thomas, I've loved all your other books.
"GREAT LISTEN - Great Perry!"
This is Perry at his best. Keeps moving. Read this and then the sequel "Sleeping Dogs".
