I've really been enjoying this series, and was overjoyed to see that Audible got the unabridged version of the Fires of Heaven. I enjoyed this book immensely, and look forward to Audible getting the UNABRIDGED versions of the next 3 books (hint hint).

Honestly, I can't believe that Mercedes Lackey agreed to put her name to these books. I listened to all three, and actually the first one wasn't too bad. By the last book I was just completely annoyed at the pasteboard characters who act in irrational ways. The characters actually seemed to become LESS mature as time went on. Ah well, wasted credits.

The Wheel of Time is my favorite book series. And I think Brandon Sanderson is doing a fantastic job of finishing Robert Jordan's work. Can't say much else without spoilers, except to say how ecstatic I am that Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are the narrators. These two readers have become the characters in these books, for me.

I've listened to the first 3 books in this series so far and I'm enjoying them a lot. I've never really been a Holmes fan, so I had no expectations that had to be met.

Well, I'm on this, the third book in the series. And I'm bored. Really bored. I can already tell you what the plot will be in this book, because it's the same as each of the previous two books. Sigh.

If you have the credits to blow and you need something Mostly Harmless to while away some time, these books are all right, but other than that, I can't recommend them.

For me, the reader isn't so great either. She tries to use different accents for different characters (British, French, etc) and she doesn't do so well. Also I think she follows the Captain Kirk school of voicing - e.g. "Well I... guess I can understand that." "So can you ... see what I mean?"

These are nice long books and kept me relatively entertained for hours and hours. I bought them all, just to see how the story turned out. However, the narrator is not the best. He gets the reading just plain *wrong* sometimes, saying the wrong character's name for several sentences, then switching back to the correct character. Also his word emphasis is odd. It just doesn't flow well. Like "What's that in the road, a head?" versus "What's that in the road ahead?" That sort of thing. So, my feeling about the books may have been affected by the narrator's problems, making them seem a bit stilted. However, I have a feeling that if Kate Reading and Michael Kramer had read the books, I'd have given them 5 stars.

Brandon has done a wonderful job of continuing Robert Jordan's series. This book is excellent and I'm looking forward to more. And of course, the narrators are wonderful!

This book is poorly written, and the characters act in illogical ways. I wouldn't waste a credit on this one.

I'm sitting here trying to listen to this book right now. The story itself is probably good enough, but the narration is so amazingly terrible that it's hard to tell. He'll talk slooooow, with pauses in strange places, then he'll talk superfast so that you can't even figure out what he's saying. It's driving me crazy. I may have to just quit listening to this book even tho I'd kind of like to know how it turns out. Harlan Ellison should stick to writing, and they should get a real narrator to read this story. Good grief.

I've listened to all three books in this series, and have enjoyed the the story. I did have trouble getting used to the reader, however. He tended to have a flat voice, and his pronunciation of words was sometimes strange. For instance, usually he pronounced "courtyard" like "orchard", which was strange enough. Oddly, sometimes he pronouned it correctly. Things like this irritated me, but the story was still worth listening to. I think with a more skilled reader the story would have come across even better.

I'm sure this is well-written and all, but the story didn't do anything for me. I'm not even sure I got the point of it; it seemed very silly to me.
