From Nora Roberts absolutely. This is the first time I can remember giving up and not even finishing a book by her....and that was with only about 1 1/2 hours left....This book popped up as a mystery/thriller and it was neither....dead giveaway from the beginning who the villains were and I was so tired of listening to southern cliches and cutesy sayings that I couldn't listen anymore (especially being from the deep south myself)
Nope....just this one
Don't bother.....you'll be pulling your hair out long before you're through.
I LOVE Kellerman....but this dragged on and in such a random manner that I'd be listening and realize I hadn't "heard" the last 15 minutes. Would try to find my spot where I left off, but it rambled around so much with so many people and no cohesiveness....All of a sudden the book was over and I sat there for a minute stunned....and realized I had no idea who the killer (or killers) were and why.....
Yes....but I'd be a bit hesitant....
clear, concise, well-read
disappointment AND anger....that I paid for a book that I truly can tell you very little about.
I would not recommend this book under any circumstances.....I have never gotten so distracted with my mind wandering all over the place with one of his books before. Hopefully it won't happen again. A waste of a credit for sure.
Dean Koontz...absolutely. This was just not his style. I love his Odd Thomas books and the ones who aren't just disgustingly gory...but this was simply boring....kept waiting or it to take off.
This is it's own genre so I wouldn't know
Just wish he'd stick with his usual format. Total waste of a credit in my opinion....but I did finish it, waiting for it to "start". The story itself was sweet....and well pulled together...it's just not what I want to hear when I use a credit on Dean Koontz. VERY low key and not much action at all.
As soon as this book grabbed your attention, there would be so much time spent on wordy descriptions that my mind would fog over, the subject would move on and i would realize that I was totally lost. Never had an audio book that I had to rewind to find my place as much as with this one. Predictable ending, no energy, ridiculous conflict between benton and Marino that suddenly was gone...or was it? I can't even remember.
Nothing by Patricia Cornwell. I have read all of her books and if this is the direction she's headed in, I'm going down another road.
Her characterizations are good.
Hope people take my review to heart and listen to something else.
The story travelled all OVER the place and I was constantly having to back up whenI realized I had simply quit listening. It could not hold my attention for any length of time.
Struggled to get through this, and I usually love Linda Fairstein's books.
Maybe if she had simply spent more time on one plot until jumping somewhere else as soon as she started to get my attention.
Nope. The idea might have been good....but by the time I got to the end, it just...well....ended.... I felt no build up and was left thinking, "wait...that's it?"
Don't waste your time OR your money.
A different story. It was simply boring.....and very predictable.
I guess Libby, the mother.....though the character was not very likable....
disappointment....and anger that I had used a credit for it.
Have always enjoyed Lisa Gardner....but will have to put serious thought before I purchase another of her books after this one.
Totally predictable, no backbone to any of the characters and if I had not listened to so many books by Tess Gerritsen and this were my first one.....it would DEFINITELY be my last. I can't believe that she actually wrote this. Characters have no substance...plot is any that a sixth grader could write.....(and that's not being complimentary to sixth graders)
AWFUL! Would LOVE to have my money back on this one!
Flat, no emotion....might as well have been reading a cookbook.
The question should be which character would I KEEP
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! I'M a huge fan of Gerritsen...but what a disappointment.
caught you early on....listened non-stop...never got bored with it. I can usually come close to calling how books will end...but this one took one extra twist I wasn't expecting...
Twist at the end
just wished it were longer
