Typical Forsyth novel... great momentum that keeps going until the very end. Not a shoot-em-up romp, but a sophisticated read that is as finely woven as an Egyptian cotton shirt. Forsyth unfolds his plot through a series of vignettes that culminate into an enjoyable and memorable climax. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel!
A great read... or listen, as it were. Could not put down. A roller coaster of emotion that left me fulfilled and sad at the same time. A must for any library. Mr. Hosseini told the story so wonderfully well that I had to go back to the description to confirm that it was fiction. He conveyed so vividly descriptions of the culture, the religion, the landscape and the soul of the Afghani people that you felt that he personally lived the tragedy… perhaps he did. He makes you taste the food, feel the dust and blood on your face, feel the anger and desperation so that you fall and triumph along with the hero.
