When a baby escapes a murderer intent on killing the entire family, who would have thought it would find safety and security in the local graveyard? Brought up by the resident ghosts, ghouls and spectres, Bod has an eccentric childhood learning about life from the dead. But for Bod there is also the danger of the murderer still looking for him - after all, he is the last remaining member of the family.

Tim says: "Wonderful story, brilliant writing and narration"
    "A thoroughly enjoyable listen."
    Overall

    A riveting, fantastic story.

But what makes this audiobook so special is Neil Gaiman's utterly spellbinding narration. He brings life to each character in turn and draws you in further with each breath.

My only problem with the narration is that it makes most other narrators sound rather mundane and ordinary. A true story teller, telling a story how it should be told.

    Highly recommended.

English magicians were once the wonder of the known world, with fairy servants at their beck and call; they could command winds, mountains, and woods. But by the early 1800s they have long since lost the ability to perform magic. They can only write long, dull papers about it, while fairy servants are nothing but a fading memory.

I was thoroughly enthralled by the written book, so was overjoyed to see the audio version available here.

Brilliantly written, masterfully read and just totally captivating.

Despite its 32+ hours, I was disappointed when it ended.

    C'mon Ms Clarke - write a sequel!
