Everything! I started this book not really expecting much but got ecerything I love and more. I cant wait for the next book in this series.
As always she done a wonderful job. If it wasn't for her I problly would of passed this book bye but she is my fav so I get everything she reads.
This was a book I stumbled upon from a review of a few ppl I follow on here who also stumbled on to this book and boy am I ever glad they did. I loved everything about this book and can not wait for more.
I think that the audio was great. It did take me awhile since she spoke so fast to catch up with the time line in this book. I think the print version would of been better for that fact alone. Other then that I enjoyed the audio version.
JJ of course! She reminds me so much of me when I was younger. Her thoughts and feelings.
I still have the unanswered question of who got to be her first time. They made such a big deal out of it in the book I kept waiting to hear about it. I felt a little ripped off that this did not play out. That's why I can't give it 5 stars. It was a fun, laugh out loud, eye rolling good read.
A different male narrator. Better yet NO male narrator. Each time I listen to one of Abbi's books the male narrator takes away from the experience, out of them all I rather have Kirby at least he did not sound like a bad porno movie gone way bad!
Beside the fact that the male narrator sounded like a bad porn movie gone bad....well how about everytime you turn around they are having sex. Oh she's mad, let's get naked. Oh you hate this, that hurt you, let me **** it better. I have to ask myself is Abbi switching over to straight erotic now? Not the good kind either, the kind that has very little story and a ton of just okay sex?
Just take away the male narrators and it would be 100% better. I felt slimy listening to Jack's narration. That was a first for me and I have listened to some pretty messed up stuff and have never felt the need to bath for hours after words.
Half of the sex scenes. It was used way too much in this book. Did not leave time for an actual story line. Now I see why this couple will have 2 books instead of 1.
I have read everything Abbi has written to this day. This is the first time I have had a truly bad taste left in my mouth after reading one of her novels. I am sure the bad taste had a lot to do with the narrator but I do feel she over used sex scenes in this book to an eye rolling level. I started skipping them and that's not like me at all!
I do not like the fact that there is a major loose end in this book that was not resolved. Can't say what it is as I do not want to spoil the book. Other then that the book was an ok read. I am not seeing Robyn Carr's passion in this series as I did with her Virgin River series. I am on the fence with continuing on with this series. It doesn't feel like new material. Just old material written with new names and with out that little something extra that makes you want to know what happens.
I just don't know. Something was missing from this book. I can normally relate to or connect with the characters in Susan's books but not this one. This book started off interesting but quickly lost all interest in it. If this was a show on tv or a movie I would of turned it off. But since I bought it, I finished it. Something was lacking, just not what I have come to expect from a Susan Mallery book. Nothing seemed to really get fix, or come to a conclusion. Everyone in the book just said oh Hey this is my problem, problem solved. Nothing was really worked threw or talked about like you would expect from a book. I would of thought this was an abridge version.
This book just did not do it for me. From the narration of Tara Sands to some of the story. The story starts off good and George Newbern did a great job. About half way threw I was just ready for it to be over already. The first part was good and had potential, then you get to the middle and to me, it just seems like the writer got tired of writing the book. Then the mistakes. Once Shane was talking and instead of saying I reached over, he says He reached over like it was a different person. I find that very annoying!
I will start my review with the WTF happen? Shadow of the Moon, we finally get Fury's story on audio! Yeah right? Not! Here is my WTF? When did BRIDE become BREEDEE? Seriously!!! Fred Berman even narrated Bride and Vane's book so WTF happened to her name?!?! Then Fear the Darkness, which you can also buy on audible by itself (which I did narrated by Holter Graham!) is now read by Fred in this book. WHY??? Why mess with perfection!? Fred can't touch Holter's performances with a ten foot poll!
I must say I am disappoint with Audible, when they first listed this book and I reordered it, it said it was narrated by Holter Graham. I get the book and here is Fred. :( Not happy with that. While Fred is okay he hurts my ears. I listened to it on my Iphone and when I turned the volume up to drown out the kids all of his words seem to have S's in them that just ripped threw my ear drums. I also tried on my kindle and Mp3 player, same results. For me Holter is the man for these books! It just is not the same with out him. I really don't understand why they rerecorded Fear of the Darkness when it was already done with the best person possible. Now I wish I would of waited for the library to get a copy available instead of buying this book. I just cant listen to it again because of Fred's affect on my ear drums. Other then the S sound that seems to bang around in my head he does do a good job. But Holter will always be my favorite. Sorry Fred.
As for the stories themselves. I have read many of these before that is why I wanted this book so bad! Bathymass and Aricles story, well I figured that story out in Styxx's book so I really could of done with out it. My only question here is Why can't we figure out away to kill the sick SOB Apollo??? Seriously he must die like yesterday!!! I have never felt such rage in my life as I do when I hear this name. Let Styxx Kill Him already! This could be an EPIC book!!
Okay enough of my ranting. If you like Fred Berman's performances and love SK then PICK this book up NOW! The stories are great and worth the buy. I love that we get to see a little bit of some of the famous past characters like Zarek. OMG, he made my heart melt the links he was willing to go just to make sure his wife was happy. Awwwweeee! I can't wait to hear more of Sasha story either! Buy the book! Catch up with old friends and maybe even new ones for those of you who haven't read everything by SK yet.
I seriously want more! I want to know who the man is that is stalking her. I want to know who she ends up with. Where is the next book?!?!
This was a fun and funny short read. I suggest you pick it up and take a listen for yourself. It will make you laugh out loud and leave you wanting more. I hope that there will be an entire book for Gigi coming soon. I was left with unanswered question so I assume that this is just a prequel to a new an exciting book to come. I HOPE! This is the first time I have ever felt like I was left hanging by suspense, I both love and hate it. I want a book about Gigi like yesterday!
This book had a lot of promise and I was looking forward to it. Then I begun to read/listen to it. Oh my word! BOOOYAH! Seriously, some of the catch phrases used in this book was funny the first time but got very freaking annoying the next several times of it being said back to back. Fo shiz.....are we not adults in this book?!?! This writing style would of been completely fine if this book was based on TEENAGERS! But since we were suppose to be reading about adults it made them just look plain ole stupid in ignorant. With that being said, if you can over look this words that distract from the story then it would be an okay read. My other main problem was that nothing was ever really "talked" about. You was left to feel in the blanks on almost every conversation in the book and on the majority of the characters. This book was not well thought out or planned. One second we are in the bed having sex next we started a whole new life and is currently about to get in bed with another person. Where was the heartbreak and emotion? Where was the things that she went threw to get to that point or stage. It just did not flow well and felt like huge chunks where missing. I had the kindle version as well as the audio and the audio did skip parts of the kindle version. But still pieces was missing. This is the second book by this writer, the first book it took me a few try's to get into but then I grew to love it so I gave this one a shot even knowing I did not like the narrator. This will also be my last book by the writer and narrator. I am sick of wasting money on highschoolish style of writing.
I first read this book and enjoyed it so much that I jumped to buy the audio version. Well while the narrator has a good voice and would be good for OTHER romance books she just did not fit with this book. I couldn't take any of the action scenes serious with her telling them. The story line is awesome and one of my favs in the breed series and I really wish this person had not narrated even more of these books. You may like the narrator however I am a bit of a snob when it comes to that.
The narrartor was so bad I couldn't even finished this book. I got 2 1/2 hours in and then wanted to shove an ice pick in my ears just so I didn't have to listen to her anymore. She was flat and her voice just got on my nerves.
