"Love conquers"
Maybe with a new narrator.
Therese Plummer! I have hear her do a mexican accent for a male before and she nailed it. She could of also made you feel what these people were feeling unlike the narrators that this books had. They made the story fall flat and the accent was horrible for the mexicans. It could of been so much better.
This story is a timeless story of love overcoming boundries put upon us from all. The love (chemistry) these two had, had to overcome him being in a gang, and her being the well breed al proper Mrs. White goodie goodie. This book was good but not as good as it could of been with a better narrator and maybe a little extra work on the story line. He had alot of real potential. I have never read any from this Author before but I will be listening to the next one. My curriousity is peeked and I can tell she has talent and I want to see if she gets better.
While I know this is consider as a Young Adult book, I would like to warn you that there are things in here that I would not let anyone under the age of 15 (mature minded 15 mind you) read, due to the nature of certain situations that are in the book.
I cant wait to see what the next installment holds.
"SUCKAGE!!"
no!
If she improves in her writing style maybe but if it stays this weak no I will not.
not a one.
Sounds/reads like something a kid/teen in school would write. I got tired of hearing he/she said every other second. Then throw in the little useless details ( she turned the water back on) really I needed to know that? When did she turn it off?! Trys to give you a play by play with details but misses most of the plays.....I barley made it threw the first chapter I scaned the rest on my kindle version and still I will not ever finish this book. Waste of time and money!
"easily heart breaking"
heart breaking, tragic, strong
The way the real life topic was dealt with. She wrote about it were you get a clear picture but not were it would scare you for life if that makes sense.
Jackie's roommate made me lol plenty of times.
The very ending, which I can not go into details about cause it would just spoil the whole book.
This is a book any young or new adult woman should listen to just for the fact that it can teach you a thing or two on how to protect your self. It's not a book I think one would read/listen to more then once however. I mainly read to escape real life and it's problems but this is so real life and dealt with things a woman can be faced with that I just had to listen/read it at least once in my life. It is a story that will stick with you and who knows it may even come in handy with what you can learn from it.
"WOW!"
yes, it brought me back to when I was a teenager and first feel in love.
The true honesty of the situation she kept finding herself in.
The was a truly emotional makes you think kind of book. Lets you understand better what love at first sight can make you think, feel, and even sometimes do. Deals with feelings I am sure a lot of ppl have or will face in their lifetime.
"Super easy read"
yes
This performance was one of the best I have heard from Kirby as compared to other books by this writer were he got on my nerves......Shayna done wonderful as always!
Lucky for me I read this series out of order (backwards) if I would not have I more then likely would of stopped after this book. It just didn't grip me and hold me like the other books in this series. The love between the two made me want to roll my eyes ( exp. some of the mushy stuff they would say to each other) and they feel in love WAY too fast! There was a good story in there but felt booged down under the confessions of their feelings. Still an okay book better ones to come in the series so please don't stop with this one. And if you truly want to skip over this one that can be done b/c you will see these two in other books and learn their story with out all the mushy gushiness of it all.
"Great intro!"
This was a great intro into a whole new world by a new writer ( for me) ! So far I have read 3 in this series and I think they are must reads! Yes it is a vampire book but yet a dystopian novel and nothing like twilight! The action, the passion, its just WOW!
"Light fluffy read"
No, I think I may have out grown my Susan Mallery days.
Just as good as any. Its what one would call a fluffy feel good read, or maybe a beach read.
Yes and she did fine as always. Perfect for this kind of book.
This is one of those light easy reads, one that doesn't take that much brain power. I had a few issues which some has more to do with me then the book but at the beginning I was like GET ON WITH IT!....and I swear I know we have to do the doubt thing (what if) but seriously it started to get on my nerves. And if the repeated one more time what they were doing or were they came from I would of screamed. I think I may just out grown this type of book and was not in the right mood for it.
If you looking for an almost sickly sweet book then this is for you. If you don't mind a few too many repeats in statements then I say grab this book. I will get the next book just because I have to know what happens since I have read everyone in the series but I do believe I will wait until I can borrow it from the library since I don't believe I will be listening/ reading them more then once ever again.
"What no Draki for Will?"
yes and I have a few currently reading/listening to it.
LOVED IT!
Loved this book,. Fast pace lots of action but I was really surprised that Will did not manifest somewhere in this book. I figured it would happen since he does have the drake blood and powers. Now I just need a spin off or a follow up book to lets me know what happen to Cassin.
"Few things seem to of been missing from the story"
Get rid of Kirby and add in a few more details to the story line itself. It almost felt like a wham bam thank you mam kind of thing. The love between the 2 seems to of been rushed. The story moved really fast which I do love but it kind of felt empty in some parts at the same time.
When Shayna read it did but when Kirby read, NO! He sounds like he is 13 in the middle of the change and hasn't came into his man's voice yet. Plus the way he would latterly shout out the parts when the Hero or other male's would get mad in the book sounded awful! He sounded like a little girl throwing a hissy fit.
yes, surprisingly.
If they would just stop using Kirby to narrate. My ratting would of been higher. The story line was really good . And listening to Shayna's performance was awesome. I wish she would of done the whole book.
"Extended and Uncut????"
yes I would, because when it was good it was good. Minus the hero calling women's breast tits (ggggrrrr) (pet peeve of mine I would rather them be called boobs!) and Kirby Heyborne performance.
Shayna'a was awesome.....Kirby however OMG the guys in this book are not 13 they have already went threw the change so whats with the preteen prechange high pitched voice? And the way he sounds when he does the female's voice.....seriously I was screaming SHUT UP! One ( Shayna) narrator would of been fine. She did the male voices better then the male narrator.
It already has one.....not sure why this was a question.
If they would just stop using Kirby to narrate and get rid of the word tits. My ratting would of been higher. The story line was really good but for that one dreaded word. And listening to Shayna's performance was awesome. I wish she would of done the whole book.
"Just when you think you know..."
The twist and turns, just when you think you know what is going to happen it goes in another direction. Heart pounding none stop action. Heart wrenching edge of your seat.
Can't pick just one, they all have qualities I love! From Zeke's caring, to Allison kick but take no prisoners attitude, to Kane's determination, to Jackal's snarky wit.
Therese is one of a few that can really bring a book to life.
I laughed, I cried, I wanted to beg!
I can't wait for the next book in this series to see just what will happens! This book has so many emotions and heart stopping pounding action hang by the edge of your seat scenes, just when you think they are gone HERE they come again!
