I obviously didn't read the reviews for this novel. Although it doesn't mention this fact in the synopsis, this is a Christian based romance. Although I don't mind "good clean fun," I felt that the amount of "we should get married because we're both upright Christians" sentiment was a bit much. After going back and reading the reviews from other Audible listeners, it seems that there is definitely an audience out there for this type of material. Hopefully this will help you make a good decision for you. Either way, good reading!

I usually wouldn't write a review for a book like this. It was entertaining enough, but left me feeling somehow cheated, even though I purchased it on a $4.95 sale. I was thinking about other readers who seemed to love or hate this book, and it occurred to me what may be the reason. I believe this book is meant to be a series (It look like it is actually #2 although Audible hasn't yet made that connection). It gives you a tiny adventure/glance into the main character's life, and leaves you waiting for the next book. Usually I'm all about a series, but I didn't feel like there was enough meat in this one to have me coming back for more. It could very easily be a show on network television (Castle, Bones, NCIS....). However, it is only one episode. I guess I, personally, would rather watch an episode of something moderately amusing for free than waste a credit or $ on something similar from audible.

I was utterly drawn into the book from the opening scene. I loved the scratched journal. I felt that the inner dialogue was raw and original. I couldn't wait to hear more of Juliet's inner turmoil and fight. I didn't want to put the story down. However, I was a bit disappointed by the 2nd half of the book, as the stylistic thoughts of the character vanish and the narration becomes more simple and average. I think I would still recommend this novel, as it's opening is quite unique, but would be ready for a rapid "rap it all up" section at the end.

This mystery keeps you guessing, and just when you figure it out, it takes a weird turns you'll never guess! This telling was fantastic! Love it and highly recommend it.

You won't be disappointed! I have always enjoyed The Hollows, and Ever After was not a disappointment. I enjoy the battles, the tiffs and the strong friendships. If you love Ivy, Jenks, Rachel & Trent, you will enjoy Ever After!

I have read and enjoyed Ilona Andrews in the past, so with Gunmetal Magic came up on a $4.95 sale, I purchased it without reading the description. I was thoroughly entertained by Andrea's (the main character) aggressive behavior and her explosive relationship with Raphael. The storyline itself was okay, but really the characters and their personal interactions were the most amusing. I later realized that this book is #6 in the Kate Daniels Series. I'm not sure I will go back and listen to #1-5, but would recommend this read for anyone looking for a light-hearted romantic fantasy.

I had never read the original novel (which is included in part two of this purchase) so had nothing on which to base my expectations. I thought it was good fun and enjoyed the flawed hero, the sense of humor of the author, and the happy ending. I found myself smiling throughout and engaged from beginning to end. I highly recommend Fuzzy Nation.

I thoroughly enjoyed Four Fires from the beginning to the end. As is typical in many of this author's stories, there is an element of boxing, life in the lower classes, the church, and most of all, Australian history. The characters in Four Fires were as intriguing as those in some of my favorite Courtenay reads including The Power of One, The Potato Factory, Tommo & Hawk & Tandia. I was most enthralled in the last part of the book in which you hear a recollection of a character's stay in a Japanese prison camp during WWII. I also appreciated the attention the author gives to PTSD. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, especially set before and during WWII. Good reading!

The when I read the plot summary of Replay, the movie Groundhog Day popped into my mind. This book, however, reminded me more of Stephen King's 11-22-63. I enjoyed the characters, the twists and turns and most of all the ending. It got me wondering how my choices would change if I could do it all over with memories in tact. I wasn't bored for a moment and would highly recommend this listen!

I am always excited to find a steamy romance with great reviews. I simply can't get into this. I can see that bondage might be fun, but "Yes, sir." "May I speak, sir?" in the bedroom? Forget it. The whole idea turns me off. I'm sure its great if you are into that kind of thing. I prefer a Lisa Kleypas or Nora Roberts.

If you enjoy thought provoking historical fiction, I think you will enjoy Winter of the World. I was completely drawn in from the very beginning. Of course, already feeling connected to the characters from the first book in the series made it much easier to connect right into the story. World War II stories always intrigue me and Follett's was fantastic. I found myself wondering about certain facts that I had never wondered about before, and spending time running Google searches. This is a book that I can see myself returning to in several years. I can't wait for the third book in the series! I highly recommend it!
