I thought the narration was great and would listen to more books by Graham. The story was very different, with great detail about a small slice in the life of the Minotaur in modern times. I would only say I expected a different ending and frankly have not decided how I feel about it - not necessarily a bad thing - I just had a very different ending imagined.
Last book and this book have been a disappointing time vampire. After book 3, I had looked forward to more plot twists and reasonable story movement. Instead, separation of characters so completely from each other that I felt the momentum was completely lost. Who edits these books and where were they?
Definately not - horrible reader. No effort put into trying to sound passionate or like it was more than a 50minute paid gig. If audible is going to pay for narration in this genre, find somebody who at least is a good voice actor!!
run away from this narrator and author.
The story itself was just so-so, but the reader was reasonable. I would be persueded to try another book by the reader before I would buy a book by the author. Author was too repetitive with the dialog - couldn't get past that.
Needs more energy
Actor's voices matched their characters and they were very expressive - seemed like they actually read the story before being asked to perform it out loud. Very believable interplay between MacKayla and Jericho - caught the humor and nuance beautifully. When they argued I swear you'd think you were listening to a real couple!! Others I have listened to have sounded wooden and can't even read sarcasm correctly! Natalie and Phil must have also had superior direction.
The relationship between Jericho and MacKayla.
They make the relationship seem real - again, I love their interplay - they really capture a lot of what couples go through when they are finding themselves getting deeper into a relationship that they aren't quite sure they want or that can't be denied due to underlying passion - the kind you don't think is really good for you!
I don't know - so hard to get it down to one line.
As Druids, Sidhe Seers, Unseelie and Seelie alike are locked in battle to control "the book", can the mysterious Jericho Barrons perform the impossible and seduce Priya struck MacKayla back from the brink of insanity, in time to save the world and in so doing , himself?
I think the series is one of the best I have read in a long time with great story line, fantastic imaginative monsters, and great tension between Jericho and MacKayla. I liked the witty repartee , arguments and regular conversations and of course the sex scenes. The series kept you guessing even though I of course kept hoping for Jericho and Mac to get together in the end. I think the first three books read by the other actress were good, but did not compare to the last two books - I wish the whole series had been done with Natalie and Phil. I would buy the first three books again if Natalie and Phil were doing them. I plan to look and see what other books both Phil and Natalie have read for audible and will most likely buy them based on my experience with the fever series.
