"This Buds For You!"
I loved this book. The author did a wonderful job telling the story of the rise, the wild ride, and the sad decline of an American family brewery.
"Here lizard, lizard, lizard..."
An amazing tale of drugs, reptiles, smuggling, bad guys, and good guys. What else could you ask for. Awesome book.
"Conspiracy theories running wild!"
This is the second book I've listened to by Jon Ronson. He is an awesome narrator! This book had a lot of interesting insights into crazy conspiracy theories and hate groups around the globe. At times I thought the book jumped around a little and was a little difficult to follow.
"Body Parts For Sale!"
Wow! "It was the best of times, the worst of times, and the bloodiest of times!" Red Market refers to various activities where the human body can be used to generate profit. Carney describes the organ transplant market, baby selling/stealing, blood farming, surrogate motherhood, and other disturbing mechanisms for making money. The book is written as a work of investigative journalism. The tale takes the reader on a journey throughout India, Cyprus, Eastern Europe, and the US. The buyers of the red-market goods are usually well-to-do Westerners, while the sellers tend to come from developing countries. Red Market conjures up thoughts of morality, coercion, and exploitation. Interesting thought provoking listen.
"Inspiring and Revolutionary"
Simply stated The One World School House is AWESOME. Khan details how the Khan Academy started, the history of the lecture style educational style, the shortcomings of current educational system, and the vision on how technology can be used to revolutionize education for everyone in the modern time! LISTEN to this book!
"Decent story, narrator gawd awful."
The story line was decent enough. However, the narrator's nasally English accent nearly drove me batty. It was all I could do to make it to the end of the book.
