Suspense, politics, war, humor and intergalactic finance. A towering masterwork of science fiction adventure and one of the best-selling science fiction novels of all time, L. Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth opens with breathtaking scope on an Earth dominated for 1,000 years by an alien invader and man is an endangered species. From the handful of surviving humans a courageous leader emerges Jonnie Goodboy Tyler, who challenges the invincible might of the alien Psychlo empire in a battle of epic scale, danger and intrigue with the fate of the Earth and of the universe in the tenuous balance.

    "Good book, Monoton Naration."
    Overall

The book for its time is a good read/listen if you can get used to the monoton naration. It could really use a re-naration attempt, If Paul Michael gave it a once over I would surely re-listen...

If you have never read/listened to BattleField Earth, give it a try!

    Overall

Dan Brown teaches as he goes! While this is a fictional book it is pact full of non-fictional references of the inner workings at the Vatican when a Pope dies and needs to be replaced. The Fictional parts are pure entertainment and you will leave this story with a great understanding of what goes on at Vatican City durring this time and the role of the Illuminati in history.

All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

I found the ending choice interesting but something in the back of my mind says I've read/seen this all before?!

Roland Deschain and his ka-tet are bearing southeast through the forests of Mid-World, the almost timeless landscape that seems to stretch from the wreckage of civility that defined Roland's youth to the crimson chaos that seems the future's only promise. Followers of Stephen King's epic series know Roland well, or as well as this enigmatic hero can be known. They also know the companions who have been drawn to his quest for the Dark Tower: Eddie Dean and his wife, Susannah; Jake Chambers; and Oy.

Stephen King returns to The Dark Towerin this second, mesmerizing volume in his epic series. After his confrontation with the man in black at the end of The Gunslinger, Roland awakes to find three doors on the beach of Mid-World's Western Sea, each leading to New York City but at three different moments in time. Through these doors, Roland must "draw" three figures crucial to his quest for the Dark Tower.

Kevin says: "If you read this, you're hooked"
"King serves up this story in mental technicolor!"
    Overall

Roland Draws three to help him on his quest to the tower of his dreams. However in true King sadistic fashion, his drawn have "ISSUES" that give unforgetable life & visuals to them.

You'll want to read all these storries again, and again!

Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

Valerie says: "Just As Wonderful as I Remembered!"
"A Story you'll want to read again, and again!"
    Overall

I recently finished the entire Dark Tower series! It took me several months to do it durring my commutes to and from work, I can tell you it was a memorable experience! King takes great pleasure in rewarding his fans with story tie ins. I recomend you also read/listen to Salems Lot, The Stand, and Black House also!

I enjoyed it so much I have this strange feeling that I need to listen to the whole story again!!!!?
