"Not A Drama"
Yes, Mr. Brick read this like a drama rather than a mystery/thriller. Really took away from the story for me.
George Guidall...actually even Mr. Brick if he wasn't so dramatic about everything.
"Oh No! It can't be over yet."
Wonderful and Entertaining!
I wouldn't rename it.
This is such a wonderfully written and narrated story. I really hate that it is over and do hope that Ms. Patchett will continue in another book and that Hope Davis will perform it.
"Trite"
I have read this author before and was not expecting so much fluff and so little story. This book could have been easily told in a third of the book as there was so much repeat of the same old "stuff". I kept thinking I lost my place and was repeating the same chapter over and over.
Not before reading more about the book.
The narrator did a good job considering what she had to work with.
Can't think of any.
"Wonderful, Soft and Loving"
I think the audio version is almost always better for books like this where the character's voices are an integral part of the story.
Precious and Mr. JLB. Both so loving and giving each in their own way.
EVERYTHING!
I've listened to the whole series. There were many moving moments in each book.
I recommend this series to everyone. They are good stories and the lives, of the characters and their love for their country and traditions was lovely easy listening.
"I want my money back!!!"
Less of the breathless drama. I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes.
As far as I got there wasn't a story at all.
She was too breathless and both were totally too fake.
"I was surprised!"
This was quite an enjoyable listen. I thought this was going to be another book about a kid getting bullied to the breaking point but was surprised to find it more than that. I thought it predictable but surprised that it wasn't.
It is sad as a parent to find out things about your children that you would just as soon not know. Not just about the child who is bullied but the child who was murdered. Neither parents knew about these sides of their children.
Grover Gardener read this so well. Loved it! Hated it! But such a good read.
"Not my fav."
Loved the continuation of the characters. Not that crazy about the story on this one. Can't really pinpoint anything just not as good to me as the others.
"Another goodie."
I hope these books continue in this vein. It is easy to get into them even though I am not reading them in the order they were written.
"The First"
This is the first but not the last of Linda Fairstein's books that I listen to. I enjoyed the story and am especially hopeful that Ms. Rosenblat is the narrator for all of them.
Also like that they are priced so reasonably.
"Another goodie."
I started reading these books by Linda Fairstein and Narrated by Barbara Rosenblat last week. I love them! The stories are great! And, I really enjoy the how Ms. Rosenblat is so able to bring the characters to life. I know I am going to be sad when I have heard them all. I feel like the main characters have become friends of mine.
