"This book was a mixed bag..."
I will not continue reading the Honor books. I found the plot to be good but I didn't like the "too many attention to details" that Mr. Weber concentrated on. It made the book drag for me. I though Allyson Johnson did a good job - event though I hated Honor's voice. I would try another book that Ms. Johnson is the reader on!
I would not recommend On Basilisk Station to my friends. Even though it was interesting and I wanted to see how it ended, I found the book frustrating with too many details.
I wanted to read the book on the recommendation of Steve Gibson (Security Now Podcast). He introduced me to the wonderful worlds of Peter F Hamilton but I just did not find David Weber to be my cup of tea.
"Good Female Character with many facets"
Glad to have listen to a book with a female overcoming issues and a good current story line.
"Great story and characters!"
I met Peter Clines through his Zombie Superhero book, EX-Heroes. Now 14 - I was so enthralled by this book.. I thought I was near the end of book...(no spoiler here) thinking ok its a good book and here comes the end but wait ... there is more! I looked and I had an hour to go! I thought wow more story.... Love it...hope it becomes a series, I would like to see where the characters go!
"A new favorite Author!"
I can't believe I found another great author because of zombie theme that I seem to be stuck on... I first found Peter Clines now Mark Tufo... they are two different animal but very entertaining! First of all I totally fell in love with the Mike - the main character... His voice was so familiar... I could see my self in his shoes. Not the mention the Sean Runnettes reading really brought the story to life and place me front and center with in the action. I was nervous, I was scared, I laughed out loud! I just downloaded the next 4 books in the series (must always take advantage of a sale). I'm also glad that Mark Tufo has other books to look forward to once I finish this series. Thank you Mr. Tufo and Mr. Runnette!
"I need more stars to give!"
Yes, but only if they read the entire series!
It was a non stop clusterf***k in the making... it seemed that there was no way Harry could overcome so many obstacles.... But Dresden finds a way... though he didn't exactly get lemonade after so many lemons... Harry lives to fight another day!
Towards the end... the events that took place on the Island... so many twist... so much story to tell!
I saw an interview with Jim Butcher and sadly this series isn't open ended... He has a final book planned... whenever that is... I could listen to Harry in Marsters voice for years to come....
"Odd OK"
Yes, Koontz is one of my favorite writers and Baker is very pleasant to listen to..
Yes because we have not come to the end of Odd's Journey.
The story was good but I was a little annoyed with the "too" detailed descriptions... felt more like filler then story…
"MHI - Better and Better!"
Yes! In fact, all of the books... Its is great to see how the overall story is building and I know that listening while doing "stuff" I may have missed some of the details... Books are so entertaining I plan or revisiting.
Seeing how Edward reacted to Tanya
Owen of course!
Chuckle out loud... while on a crowded NYC Bus.
I can't get enough of MHI! Keep it up Larry!
"Could not get past the first hour..."
I could not get into the reader... she made it difficult for me to get into the story. It was dragging??? I glad that this was a free book, because I would have asked for my money back!
"I listened straight through!"
I rarely reread books... Once read or listened too... the stay in my head... but I think I could see myself re-listening to the whole Joe Ledger Series again... It would be like changing the channels in the middle of the night and coming across a movie or series from my teenage years... unable to change the changel cause the excitement was back and even though you know the ending.. its fresh again!
The ending phone call... Joe deserved a break!!!
Ray Porter is a great reader... the way he fleshes out his characters... different voices, accents, manners of speaking...
I can't wait for the next novel in the series... in fact I will have to check out some of the other books written by Mr. Mayberry!
"Great Book, Great Narrator!"
Stephen King really knows how to place you with in the story and Craig Wasson's reading gave the story an extra level of reality...
