  • Flawless Consulting: A Guide to Getting Your Expertise Used, Third Edition

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 21 mins)
    • By Peter Block
    • Narrated By Erik Synnestvedt
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When the landmark best-seller Flawless Consulting was first published more than three decades ago, it was quickly adopted as the "consultant's bible." With his legendary warmth and passion, Peter Block explained how to deal effectively with clients, peers, and others. The book continues to speak to people in a support function inside organizations as well as to external consultants. This thoroughly revised and updated third edition of Peter Block's groundbreaking book explores the latest thinking on consultation.

Chris says: "TERRIBLE NARRATION - But great info so far!"
    "Good book, poor narration."
Would you try another book from Peter Block and/or Erik Synnestvedt?

Yes - this book has some very good content, but I got so frustrated that I had to go buy the Kindle version and listen to the text to speech voice rather than trying to listen to the narrator on Audible. I listened to the demo, but didn't realize how aggravating the pauses would become.

Who was your favorite character and why?

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator continously whined and paused at the end of every sentence so you couldn't get a flow from the message.

Was Flawless Consulting worth the listening time?

  • Trading for a Living: Psychology, Trading Tactics, Money Management

    • ABRIDGED (2 hrs and 58 mins)
    • By Alexander Elder
    • Narrated By Richard Davison

A hundred-thousand investors have turned to this best-selling guide for mastering successful trading by Dr. Alexander Elder, a professional trader, a world-classs expert in technical analysis, and a practicing psychiatrist. He believes that successful trading is based on three M's: Mind, Method, and Money. Trading for a Living helps discipline your Mind, shows you the Methods for trading the markets, and show you have to manage Money in your trading accounts.

Joseph says: "Read this if you want to know WHY things work."
    "Getting started in stocks?"

I was very disappointed in this book - only because reading the forward and introduction gave me a false sense that it would give me some insight into making the leap from "hobby stock/option buyer" to a full time career trading for a living.
The book is probably good for someone without a grasp of how the markets work - the author repeats themes several times throughout the book - again, this is beneficial to those who didn't get it the first 2 or 3 times.
What you won't see is examples on how to manage your stake/money, how to handle a slump, percentages and risk management as these are much higher end topics than this book is written for.
