This is my second book by John Ortberg. I really appreciate his style and humor. He provides wonderful insight into the spiritual disciplines and growth as a Christian. I highly recommend!
This book will challenge your thinking about creativity and innovation. I was surprised by the number of the myths I actually believed!
I enjoyed having my thinking challenged and having my mind opened to new ideas. David has a number of entertaining stores based on good research.
No. I really did not like the narrator. There was little energy or passion in the narration.
It was good having the author read the book. It made the transparent parts of the book believable.
I was reminded and challenged by the idea that I'm an ambassador for Christ and that makes me the highest ranking official of His kingdom in my sphere of influence.
Like others, I wish the author had read the book. He is more engaging. However the ideas presented in the book will make you think. I've never considered the impact Jesus made on our world with the depth and written by John Ortberg. Great work and well worth the listen.
This is an instant classic by Seth Godin. I've been a huge fan ever since Tribes. This book will challenge you and make you think. Must listen!
Challenges any Christ-follower to get out of the boat. Encouraging, thoughtful, and entertaining book. I have read and listened to it and can't recommend it too highly!
This is a great book about changing your perspective from being a 2-alternative thinker to being someone who pursues a 3rd Alternative. Third alternative thinkers work for Win-Win and produce the most meaningful change and the most positive results. Let your mind pursue the 3rd Alternative and begin to find new answers to your most difficult problems.
Business at the Speed of Now is a well thought out, practical, applicable, and proven system of things you can do in your business right now to make your business more relevant, practical, valuable and meaningful to both your customers and your employees. Must read!
This is a refreshing look at leadership and the qualities that flow from leading from your passion. He specifically suggests that successful leaders are "authentic leaders" and that authenticity comes from intrinsic or internal motivations rather than extrinsic motivation. Examples of intrinsic motivation include passions and desire to see things change for the better. Examples of extrinsic motivation include pay, power, prestige, etc. When intrinsically motivated, leaders are less likely to compromise their values and more likely to remain authentic. When extrinsically motivated, that is less often the case.
In all, this is a wonderful listen with great insight.
I appreciate the author's style and the Obsessions seem to be very relevant to my situation at work. He uses a story to illustrate the points he's making. The story sets up the Obsessions while providing memorable characters and a context for the content. I've listened to this 3 or 4 times and recommended it to several people.
I appreciate everything of John Ortberg's that I read. This book does not disappoint. He weaves game analogies throughout the book to help us see life from God's perspective. Very entertaining, humorous at times and extremely perceptive.
