Dory is used to fighting hard and nasty. So when she wakes up in a strange scientific lab with a strange man standing over her, her first instinct is to take his head off. Luckily, the man is actually the master vampire Louis-Cesare, so he's not an easy kill. It turns out that Dory had been working with a Vampire Senate task force on the smuggling of magical items and weaponry out of Faerie when she was captured and brought to the lab.

I like this author I like her Cassie series as well as this one. The narrator is ok although i'm often distracted when she talks so long she runs out of breath. The book is good but confusing at times it jumps around with out notice and sometimes you have to rewind because you think you have missed something. She may have noticed this because at the end she took a while to explain exactly what happened then your like ohhhhh ok I get it. So again the book is good you just have to pay close attention and maybe rewind a few times to try to keep up.

I don't know why she can't be a strong smart main character but she is still entertaining. I'm listening to this while I find a new series its OK for a light listen but its not as good as Kim harrison. or frost.

This is the first time listening to this author and she did a decent job. I liked the book it wasn't one of those books where your like omg this is the best book ever but if your looking for a series in between your favorite authors this one will do....so far. The narrator did a good job and i was able to pay attention to the story. The only thing I didn't really care for was the wording but i guess it was appropriate for the story. Necking? I'm old enough to know what it means but it may be confusing for a younger audience.

This series is by far one of my favorite, there is action, excitement, love and comedy. Rachel and trent are awesome together would have preferred a more of a ending (can't say much with out spoilers) but still an awesome book and i hope kim harrison starts a new series much like this one i'm not really in to any of her other books but this one is awesome. Margerite Gavin is a perfect narrator, she really knows how to deliver a superb performance. Start the series if you haven't already you wont be disappointed.
