Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July, 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history.

What did you like best about Lone Survivor? What did you like least?

    the story is good

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narration was terrible. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and you have to settle into the reader sometimes. I couldn't with this one. The reader over emphasizes every word. I really wanted to listen to this book but could not do it. I gave it a good two hours on different days and finally had to just stop it and buy the text version to read. (I don't get much of a chance to just read so gives you an idea of how hard I tried to stick with the Audio) I actually check the narrator on books now to make sure I don't get a book with this one again. I see he's narrated a few others so maybe this was just a bad one for him but I'm going to pass for now.

    Any additional comments?

Would be great if it was narrated by someone else and someone should help the current one with his over dramatizing and elaborate pauses.

Two lonely towns in Colorado: Hope and Despair. Between them, 12 miles of empty road. Jack Reacher never turns back. It's not in his nature. All he wants is a cup of coffee. What he gets is big trouble. So in Lee Child's electrifying new novel, Reacher - a man with no fear, no illusions, and nothing to lose - goes to war against a town that not only wants him gone, it wants him dead.

Ed says: "Least favorite of all the Reacher novels"
    "Worst reacher yet"

What was most disappointing about Lee Child’s story?

Improbable, reacher continuously confronts his enemies, unarmed. In reality they would have just shot him and it would have been over but probably a better story. Usually like reacher but I might need to wait a while for another get the bad taste out from this one.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Yes. Performance was fine

What character would you cut from Nothing to Lose?

    Reacher
