I actually bought the book first and was completely impressed. Of course there is going to be too much stuff to remember (poker is a very complex game), so I decided to get the audio version so I could easily review the material whenever I get a chance. Every time I listen to this I manage to find some kind of hole in my game or a great nugget of information to exploit someone with. This is a truly great book that can be listened to over and over. I have read quite a few books on poker and in my opinion this is the next best thing to Harrington on Holdem (which would be impractical for audio).
I have waited six months to review this because I wanted to wait and see if this would be merely short term inspiration (like so many other self-help programs) or if it would have lasting impact. I am a big fan of Tracy's and was very happy with his book "Goals", but "Success Mastery Academy" is the absolute best you can get on Audible. I first listened to this in September and resolved to apply the principles and techniques that I have learned. Six months later I have met almost all of my goals for the year including finding a great new career and increasing my income by over 50%...I am still in disbelief right now at the way things are going for me. I still have a long way to go, but its safe for me to say that listening to this program was a turning point in my life. Get it, and listen to it at least once a month.
I'm not sure why they target girls for this book, because half of it is a guy telling how he got over his own breakups. This book is equally good for guys. I just got out of a 3 year relationship and even though I was the one that ended it I was still feeling pretty down (this is called dumpers remorse in the book). This audio actually made me feel quite a bit better about ending things. I think the other reviewer is mistaken, and am pretty sure this version of the book is in fact read by the authors.
I was hoping for some insight, but if you listened to the first 2 or 3 minutes you pretty much get the jist of the book. The book makes the comparison between the the stock market crash of 1918-1921 to the crash of 2000-2002. It then says that like the 1922-1929 boom there will be another boom from 2005 to 2008 after which there will be a major crash. The book then goes on to repeat this message another 50 times. I was pretty much sick of this book after an hour and a half. If this boom-bust cycle had happened a bit more often in the past I might be inclined to believe the trend, however drawing the conclusions that he does from only one example in the past makes a very weak case for a coming boom...where suppossedly the DOW will hit 40,000 in the next 4-5 years.
This has been one of the best audiobooks that I have ever listened to. This book is CRAMMED with so much great stuff though that you really need to listen to it several times or take some notes to really get the most out of it. I have listened to just about every motivational book on audible.com and this is the first one that has made me do something that the other ones haven't...take action.
