What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the story wasn't so convoluted! It was just a silly story with no real connection between they characters. And yes I do read YA stuff all the time. So either I'm finally outgrowing it or this was just really bad.

Notorious Nora Sutherlin is famous for her delicious works of erotica, each one more popular with readers than the last. But her latest manuscript is different - more serious, more personal - and she's sure it'll be her breakout book…if it ever sees the light of day. Zachary Easton holds Nora's fate in his well-manicured hands. The demanding British editor agrees to handle the book on one condition: He wants complete control. Nora must rewrite the entire novel to his exacting standards - in six weeks - or it's no deal. Nora's grueling writing sessions with Zach are draining…and shockingly arousing.

What disappointed you about The Siren?

I only got about an hour into it, but it was such a slow start...maybe it could have gotten good, but it was just taking too much time. And the plot was weird, I couldn't decide who was the woman's love interest, her very young room-mate (creepy) or the snobby, uptight editor---which could have been good, but come on get to it!

What do you think your next listen will be?

Maybe just a traditional period romance.

How could the performance have been better?

I'm not a big fan of male narrators for romance so maybe a woman narrator.

What character would you cut from The Siren?

The roommate guy....he was unrealistic...and I hated his voice

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her - people with gifts - and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance. She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch. Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

Would you consider the audio edition of Unravel Me to be better than the print version?

    Yeah!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Warner....talk about a character you love to hate. Damn! I usually don't like the "bad boys", but the chemistry between him and Juliette is so hot for a YA book. My only complaint is that ISN'T an adult romance. I really hope the author has Juliette pick him.

What about Kate Simses’s performance did you like?

Good, a little sweet and innocent, but I guess that fits the character.

Tristran Thorn has lost his heart to the hauntingly beautiful Victoria Forester. It is this promise that sends Tristran on the most unforgettable adventure of his life.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If something reasonable and interesting would have happened. At times this seemed like a book for 5 year olds, so many "silly" things happening, then there would be this strange explicit sex scene. Very strange.

What do you think your next listen will be?

The fault in our stars.....which is what I thought this was.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    None,...even the romance was boring.

What character would you cut from Stardust?

The girl he goes on a quest for. I didn't finish the book, but if the author was trying create any type of romance or chemistry he failed.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    People who can't read well.

Has Gabriel's Inferno turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Maybe

How could the performance have been better?

I don't know, his voice was too low...the female voice was creepy

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Gabriel's Inferno?

The middle...it just started to drag on and on.
Also, people don't really talk like this do they? Lot's of "I will call you" instead of I'll all you...most people use contractions when they speak, but not in this book!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Sci-Fi guys I guess.....maybe it got better in the 2nd half, but I quit listening in part 2. I just couldn't make myself care about this guy. The windup girl herself was a great character and if there ends up being some romance between them I might be sorry I quit. But it was just taking too long to go anywhere!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes...many! It was almost awesome. So much potential for a great book, but you can't wait until 3/4th of the book is gone for something to happen of interest.

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand. Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

If they like romance and YA...its a little older than YA, but a good story with interesting characters. Sometimes the Travis character bugged me a bit (come on guy, get a backbone). But it was cute and I can totally see a movie in it....which I think they might be doing.

Do you think Beautiful Disaster needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

God no! What more could there be to tell?

What did you like best about this story?

I like that its not the regular, boy meets girl at a coffee shop or business meeting (or after he's just turned her into a vampire LOL). As crazy as the story is, its believable. I found my self wondering if it was based on a true story, which I knew it wasn't, but still it seemed very possible.

Good girls just can't win! High school principal Judy Anne Palmer was always a good girl who never did an impulsive, rebellious thing. Ever. And look where it got her! One night in Dallas, she meets a man and decides to indulge in a liberating night of passion - liberating her from the stigma of being the oldest living virgin north of the Rio Grande. After all, she'll never see her one-night Romeo again. Unfortunately, the night doesn't turn out exactly the way she planned, and her one-night Romeo isn't one-night stand material.

What would have made Romeo and Judy Anne better?

    A different reader for starters

Has Romeo and Judy Anne turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes actually it has. I thought I'd try another erotica after reading shades of gray.....but I realize now that most of it is poorly written and therefore its probably difficult to get good readers. This lady reads like she's in the 5th grade.....no inflection, just mono-tone, and her speech is so stilted
Her British accent is hilarious! And her Texas accent isn't much better.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Christine Padovan?

I don't keep track of readers names
