Tristran Thorn has lost his heart to the hauntingly beautiful Victoria Forester. One crisp October night, as they watch, a star falls from the sky, and Victoria promises to marry Tristran if he'll retrieve the star and bring it back for her. It is this promise that sends Tristran on the most unforgettable adventure of his life.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If something reasonable and interesting would have happened. At times this seemed like a book for 5 year olds, so many "silly" things happening, then there would be this strange explicit sex scene. Very strange.

What do you think your next listen will be?

The fault in our stars.....which is what I thought this was.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    None,...even the romance was boring.

What character would you cut from Stardust?

The girl he goes on a quest for. I didn't finish the book, but if the author was trying create any type of romance or chemistry he failed.

Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine a life where fans would chase him, paparazzi would stalk him, and Hollywood studios would want to own him. While filming in Seaport, Rhode Island, Ryan ducks into a neighborhood bar for a quick escape from legions of screaming fans... and finds much more than he expected. Nursing a recent heartbreak, Taryn Mitchell believes men are best kept at a safe distance. But when Ryan Christensen unexpectedly bursts through the front door of her pub, she can’t help but be drawn in

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No....I hope people don't think this is okay-to treat this woman like this. Sure Taryn jumps to conclusions a lot, but mostly she puts up with a lot of crap and gets very little sympathy for it. She should of told Ryan to f-off along time ago. He hides their relationship from the world and lets his publicist, agent, and the public at large think she's nothing and allows the world to believe he's hooking up with someone else. He makes her wait across the street and watch him schmooze with his co-star who is in love with him. He expects her to be okay with watching him kiss his ex-girlfriend co-star day after day. But when he has his jealous fits over nothing (as far as he knows) he tries to control her and the situation to make him feel better . He was such a manipulative, narcissistic jerk and by the end of the book I was sooooo hoping she would dump him and make him gravel a little.

What could Tina Reber have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not made Taryn such a doormat.

Which character – as performed by Madeleine Maby – was your favorite?

None, but it wasn't the narrator's fault. I even hated Taryn's best friend, Marie--a lot!....if she was my best friend and she slapped me knowing what I'd been through that night I would have punched her in the face and fired her from my bar.

Was Love Unscripted worth the listening time?

Not really.....it was sooooooo long. I feel the editor could have cut the book down by 1/3 and still told the same sexist story.

Don Tillman, professor of genetics, has never been on a second date. So when an acquaintance informs him that he would make a "wonderful" husband, his first reaction is shock. Yet he must concede to the statistical probability that there is someone for everyone, and Don sets out to find the perfect partner. She will be punctual and logical - most definitely not a barmaid, a smoker, a drinker, or a late-arriver. Yet Rosie Jarman is all these things. She is also beguiling, fiery, intelligent - and on a quest of her own....

Where does The Rosie Project rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Towards the top!

Have you listened to any of Dan O'Grady’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Never listened to him before...at least I dont' think so....I don't pay much attention to narrators. But he was perfect for this part!

    Any additional comments?

Really great! This is a romance with a twist and it seems that is impossible these days. Every romance is so predictable anymore, but The Rosie Project manages to create this unique modern couple, that I can't really identify with, but I still love!
I wish they had put an actual photo on the cover...Don is a character that grows on you, and by the end even I was in love with him. I just wanted to know what he looked like, for some reason I couldn't image him. This is another book that would make a great movie!

What made the experience of listening to The Night Circus the most enjoyable?

It was so new and different. I really had no idea where it was going and how it would end. There so many ways it could go and it was a blast trying to guess what would happen next.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Night Circus?

When Marco reveals himself to Celia.

    Any additional comments?

Great story that's a romance and more. I don't like books where the author seems to scream, "I'm a great writer! Look at all the beautiful words I've written...look how many I use to describe every last detail of every scene". This author is great...and does have a vivid imagination but, it doesn't bog down the action. I never felt like I needed to skip ahead to the action like I do with some books in the fiction genre.
It was just a really unique story. I really hope they make a movie out of this...it would be excellent!

Years after suffering the tragic loss of her husband, Ethan, which left her alone to raise their young daughter, Clare Murray still holds the last letter he wrote with the words "When You're Ready" written in his familiar messy handwriting, unable to break its weathered seal. Ready for what? He was her entire world, and Clare had accepted a life without him, without love. Until years later, fate brings her to an emergency room, and face to face with a stormy-eyed doctor intent on changing her mind.

Okay, I love a good ole sloppy romance just as much as the next person, but this was just really bad. There was very little story...so much of the book was spent building this perfect relationship and after a while I kept waiting for something to happen. The dialog was so ridiculously perfect and their was never any motivation given for Logan to suddenly decide Claire was the one to make him settle down and be a "better man". All of the..."events" of the books were so obvious I saw them coming by chapter 2. I don't know, maybe I'm finally growing out of romance novels, it seems its hard to find a good one anymore.

What did you love best about Ignite Me?

The relationship between Juliette and Warner. Probably the best chemistry between two YA characters since Edward and Bella....only better!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ignite Me?

Duh! When Juliette finally gives in and tells Warner she loves him.

What does Kate Simses bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does Warner's voice perfectly. Often women can't do the guy's voice very well, but Warner's voice is very......Warner.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! This was the hottest YA book I've ever read. In fact, my 12 year old read the first 2 and I'm not sure I want her to read the last one. It is really pretty graphic. But Tahereh Mafi knows how to write scenes with sexual tension without dragging it out too long. She also did a great job of not making it all about romance.

    Any additional comments?

Why are they making movies out of YA Books like Beautiful Creatures, Divergent, and Mortal Instruments and NOT this series. It is way better.
Best ending to a series I've ever read! ...........and maybe there'll be a 4th? Maybe???!

Wow...I thought the premises was fun....alien/human love affair, but wow, its about the most unromantic thing I've ever heard. The male lead is a controlling, abusive, psychopath with no redeeming qualities at all. The "Happy ever after" is the woman excepting that despite the fact that her oppressive,"lover" has EVERY warning sign of a major domestic abuser, she is just overreacting and should try to accept her fate as his captive and sex slave. How is this romantic? Its really kind of sick. And don't get me started on the fact that author uses words like "penis" and "vagina" when describing sex scences.......is this a medical report or erotica?
This was just bad; bad writing, bad narrating (she sounds WAY to straight laced for erotica), and bad characters....in the end I was hoping Mia would kill her lover! Or herself. I'm sure that's not what the author was trying to convey. Too bad, this could have been a good book.

Notorious Nora Sutherlin is famous for her delicious works of erotica, each one more popular with readers than the last. But her latest manuscript is different - more serious, more personal - and she's sure it'll be her breakout book…if it ever sees the light of day. Zachary Easton holds Nora's fate in his well-manicured hands. The demanding British editor agrees to handle the book on one condition: He wants complete control. Nora must rewrite the entire novel to his exacting standards - in six weeks - or it's no deal. Nora's grueling writing sessions with Zach are draining…and shockingly arousing.

What disappointed you about The Siren?

I only got about an hour into it, but it was such a slow start...maybe it could have gotten good, but it was just taking too much time. And the plot was weird, I couldn't decide who was the woman's love interest, her very young room-mate (creepy) or the snobby, uptight editor---which could have been good, but come on get to it!

What do you think your next listen will be?

Maybe just a traditional period romance.

How could the performance have been better?

I'm not a big fan of male narrators for romance so maybe a woman narrator.

What character would you cut from The Siren?

The roommate guy....he was unrealistic...and I hated his voice

Would you consider the audio edition of Unravel Me to be better than the print version?

    Yeah!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Warner....talk about a character you love to hate. Damn! I usually don't like the "bad boys", but the chemistry between him and Juliette is so hot for a YA book. My only complaint is that ISN'T an adult romance. I really hope the author has Juliette pick him.

What about Kate Simses’s performance did you like?

Good, a little sweet and innocent, but I guess that fits the character.
