In this Hugo-nominated novel, an alien walks into a museum and asks if he can see a paleontologist. But the arachnid ET hasn't come aboard a rowboat with the Pope and Stephen Hawking (although His Holiness does request an audience later). Landing at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, the spacefarer, Hollus, asks to compare notes on mass extinctions with resident dino-scientist Thomas Jericho.

Where does Calculating God rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book was so incredible I read it 4 times in the last month! It's the best audiobook I've listened to ever!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Calculating God?

At the first page, Calculating God grabs each moment with compelling drive. From the first spoken word to the last, the characters capture your attention and never gives it back.

Have you listened to any of Jonathan Davis and Robert J. Sawyer ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Calculating God is the first book I've listened to by Robert J. Sawyer and Jonathan Davis! It has sent me to find Robert's other books, and to write Jonathan a letter, of thanks for his talent in making the book live.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many of the conversations between the alien and the scientist brings them to a close relationship which moved me to care deeply for these characters. I never met an alien with a sense of humor.

    Any additional comments?

As an author, myself, I admire Robert's daring with character, plot, and intelligence. This book almost convinced me it was real. I found myself arguing the science. Amazing Book.

From the preeminent Hitler biographer, a fascinating and original exploration of how the Third Reich was willing and able to fight to the bitter end of World War II. Countless books have been written about why Nazi Germany lost World War II, yet remarkably little attention has been paid to the equally vital question of how and why it was able to hold out as long as it did.

What made the experience of listening to The End the most enjoyable?

The facination of "The End" was Hitler's third war, the war against his own people

What was one of the most memorable moments of The End?

The failed plot to kill Hitler.

Have you listened to any of Sean Pratt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I've listened to Mr. Pratt's work.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

As an animal lover, I was angered by Hitler's order to euthenize all the pets.

    Any additional comments?

"The End" gives the reader a "you are there" perspective more powerful than "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich."

    What disappointed you about Legion?

The story begins with the hunt for Osama Ben Lauden. Story is not up to date.

What was most disappointing about Brandon Sanderson’s story?

    The time line.

Did Oliver Wyman do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Only read a few lines of chapter 1.

What character would you cut from Legion?

I know it was free, but not worth the trouble.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

What made the experience of listening to One Second After the most enjoyable?

This story is simple in it's premise and complicated in it's impact on the characters. The basic experience is: What happens when the EMP effect destroys the American way of liffe? No electricity, no transportation, no grocery or department stores, no entertainment dvd,tv, movies, music cds, computers; everything we now depend upon is lost. How do we live? The story pulls it punches by using a small town. But the characters are believable. Good resolution.

Would you recommend One Second After to your friends? Why or why not?

One Second After is a good "end of the world" story.

Did Joe Barrett do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

good characters. readers care about them

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    The End of American Life.

    Any additional comments?

The end of sociiety, the end of trust, the end of hope. And the human power to return to civilization.

If you could sum up A Dog's Journey in three words, what would they be?

    Puppy lives forever

What other book might you compare A Dog's Journey to and why?

    book 2 of "A Dog's Purpose"

What does George K. Wilson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The dog's personality is full of charm.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Some of the story is sad.
