The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

This was awful, who picks the narrators for books? I purchased this for my nook and I love the book, but not the recording. I will not be purchasing the rest of the series if the narrator is the same.

In a small town in Mississippi, a young, upbeat librarian has been given an ultimatum: increase the library’s circulation dramatically or close its doors. Maura doesn’t just start a book club; she gets involved in unique and unexpected ways with her patrons. She entertains and advises, she has potluck dinners, and life in the town begins to imitate art. The patrons begin to relate their own lives to the work of writers like Margaret Mitchell and Harper Lee. In moving and personal ways, Maura helps them deal with such subjects as long-lost love and a brush with death.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book was difficult to listen to because so many of the characters sounded the same, in addition the narrator was not good at distinguishing who was talking. The book seemed to take forever and I only finished because I was doing a boring job that had to be completed.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Marguerite Gavin?

    No

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

What made the experience of listening to And One Last Thing... the most enjoyable?

It was funny and the reader was great.

If you???ve listened to books by Molly Harper before, how does this one compare?

The writing was a little weaker, but if reading this on the beach or in traffic, it will make you laugh.

With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover, Eric Northman, and his "child", Pam, are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot - which is much more complicated than she knows.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Because I love the characters, it was worth listening too; however it was the most disappointing in the series.

If you???ve listened to books by Charlaine Harris before, how does this one compare?

    The worst one

Which character ??? as performed by Johanna Parker ??? was your favorite?

    Sookie is always my favorite.

Was Dead Reckoning worth the listening time?

Yes, but it was all over and felt like something was missing.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Where does Under the Dome rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

I have been listening to audio books for years, so I do not have a good measurement for this, but it is not in my top 10.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    Too short

    Any additional comments?

The narrator is great, but the book at 34 hours and 29 minutes, is just too drawn out, too long. I think this story might have been better if it had been almost a third shorter, because there were times I got lost in it and could not keep track of what was going on. I normally love King's books, but this one, not so much. It parts it felt like the author got lost too, and the weird part is, the ending of the books was very quick. Now I am wondering if I want to listen to 11-23-63. . .

Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

This is so much better than Dead Reckoning was, I really enjoyed it. I know a lot of reviewers are complaining about the end, but I thought it was great. bill's voice has changed, not for the better, but otherwise this was a great performance and a good story. I am glad they got rid of one of the female characters.

The story was good, but the narrator was not so hot. it was hard to tell te characters apart and her reading would speed up and slow down. I will not be buying any more books with her as a narrator.

It was one of Eve Dallas’s earliest takedowns, back in her uniform days. A monster named Isaac McQueen had been abducting young victims and leaving them scarred in both mind and body. Thanks to Eve, he wound up where he belonged, removed from civilized society in Rikers. But he’s not behind bars anymore. After his escape, McQueen has two things in mind. One is to take up where he left off, preying on the young and innocent - when necessary, with the help of a female partner all too willing to be manipulated and to aid and abet his crimes.

Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie’s name is on the killer’s list. Short on time to find evidence proving the killer’s identity, Stephanie faces further complications when her family and friends decide that it’s time for her to choose between her longtime off-again-on-again boyfriend and the other bad boy in her life....
