At the end of Shadow of the Giant, Bean flees to the stars with three of his children--the three who share the engineered genes that gave him both hyper-intelligence and a short, cruel physical life. The time dilation granted by the speed of their travel gives Earth’s scientists generations to seek a cure, to no avail. In time, they are forgotten - a fading ansible signal speaking of events lost to Earth’s history. But the Delphikis are about to make a discovery that will let them save themselves, and perhaps all of humanity in days to come.

    Story
Would you try another book from Orson Scott Card and/or the narrators?

Having read all of the Ender's Game series, I was looking forward to this new installment. The narration was engaging and kept my interest throughout the story. The story line ties back well to the previous books.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

    Good voicing between the characters.

Was Shadows in Flight worth the listening time?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

The disappointing part about this book is that it isn't a complete book... it is HALF a book. The progression of the story line builds to a climax and then just stops. It is clear that to maximize reader involvement and perhaps income, the book is shorter than normal. With the sequel already near to completion, there is no doubt that the two could have been combined, and provided a more traditional resolution of the story line. Did I enjoy this half of the book? Yes! Do I want to wait to find out what happens? Well, no, but what choice is there?
