The books I have read by Lisa Gardner are all twisted and have children that are hurt. This one has more twist that a candy cane....Kirsten Potter did a great job giving the charactors their own personalties...Made the morning drive enjoyable
This is Jo Nesbo at his best. I loved it from the first page. When you think you know what is going to happen everything changes. This is a stand alone book that might have a follow up story. I liked Sonny and for a cold blooded killer to be liked takes tallent by the story teller.
This is not what you think a sniper/killer would do so it was a nice change of pace. Plenty of action to keep the listener going and a great ending.
If you are a lover of words you will love this book. There are times you can smell and taste the air. This is not a cut to the chase in your face book, it builds and falls down and takes you to a new place. I enjoyed 97% of the book making it one to read again. Theo needs to catch a break...
Was this a love story, no, was this a about being a Jew, no. Was this a book about crimes against women, not sure. I wanted to really like this story but I was left not sure what the book was about. I liked parts but it left me flat. I may have to read this one again to see if I missed something.
Sometimes you need a good book, not one that keeps you up at night or scares you silly but a good enjoyable book...this is one of those books.
It also provides an insight into the world of horse racing I had never thought of...
I was ready for ok the good wins. Well maybe. Maybe not. Made a long drive very short.
I battled to finish this book. The narrators had to be tired when they finished I felt they did a wonderful job with a story that hurt to read. I have told a couple of friends not to read this as I could not pick up a book for several days...shell shocked...SAD SAD SAD
The pain Harry goes through is heart wrenching. This is not the book to start with if you are going to read Jo Nesbo...
What defines a person? Murder defines Harry. That and being a policeman.
I relistened to the last few chapters to make sure... I cried for the people left standing. Robin Sachs is the reason Harry touches your heart.
I loved this story. Yes there can be joy in life with work and the ablity to see.
