This book would have kept me up all night turning pages. BecauseI listen only when I'm doing "mindless" tasks (cooking, cleaning, gardening) I found myself finding many more "mindless" tasks so I could keep on reading. Had to force myself to stop so I could get "real" work done! Only issue with this book is that the voices of characters are not always distinctly different.
As a fan of Sherlock Holmes mysteries--whether written by Arthur Conan Doyle or not--I found this to be a great addition to the collection. Well done.
A fascinating look at Napoleon's invasion of Russia; adds new depth and understanding. It also adds to the historical context of how disease affected history (there are many examples out there--this was especially well done). Great insight into medical practice of the period. As a historian I now want to purchase the hard copy to place in my library to review the details.
Reacher is Reacher--great prequel that takes you back to the beginning. Thoroughly enjoyed this book
While I enjoyed listening to the reader and characters ...
...I kept waiting for something to happen. It didn't. I thoroughly enjoy the stories in Smith's other series (Ladies Detective) this story went nowhere.
Very disappointed in this book. After listening to his Ladies Detective series, I was expecting much more. It just went nowhere, The reader was fine; story was not. Boring.
