I love this series and couldn't wait for this book. But, I am so disappointed with parts of the story line that I don't know if I will get the next book in the series. I don't want to give too much away, but Jane is phenomenally betrayed by multiple characters in this book. She is supposed to be this tough chick who doesn't put up with anything, but she doesn't retaliate at all and essentially just accepts it. She accepts that it is just "in their nature". This completely ruined Jane's character for me. I'm not interested in reading anymore. I kept thinking she would at least plot her revenge at the end of the book, but she doesn't.
The only reason I gave this a 3 and not anything lower is because the writing is still good and it is generally a good story. I just REALLY disliked the that aspect of the book. Unless I see that the next book is about her getting even, I won't be getting it.
I was really surprised by this book. I liked all the characters and the story line moved along without getting slow in parts. I actually wish it were longer and developed even more. I'm definitely getting book 2.
I enjoyed this book overall (except for the horrible almost rape scene). I liked the main characters and the story line. I didn't really want to stop listening.
This book was okay, but I wish I hadn't wasted a credit on it. There is very little development between the two characters. After he screws her over, they have very little interaction but suddenly at the end realize they can't live without each other.
At first I thought this book had some potential, but it never really went anywhere. Both of the main characters were idiots (especially Tommy) and seemed to get dumber in every chapter. The title says "A Love Story," but neither character seemed to particularly like one another. There were a couple of quirky funny parts, but that is about it for the positive aspects.
The narrator was okay and did the best she could with the material.
This was an entertaining book reminiscent of Mary Janice Davidson's undead series. The main character is a bit of a ditz at first, but she grows on you as the story progresses. I will definitely be on the look out for other books by this author.
I enjoyed this book very much. I liked the characters and the story line. It made me laugh several times and I didn't want to stop listening.
I usually like everything Molly Harper puts out, but this one was SO BORING!!!! It just dragged on and on. It was also extremely predictable with no surprises whatsoever. I think what contributed to it being so boring was that it kept changing perspectives between five different people. That slowed to story line down to a crawl and made it painful to listen to.
The narration was great, as it always is with Amanda Ronconi.
I keep thinking this series is going to get better, but it isn't. The author spends very little time on the main characters and the majority of the book on supporting characters and other pointless story lines. I thought the first book did it to establish the setting and characters, but the second book did it too and this book was the absolute worst!!! There was very little interaction between the two main characters at all and absolutely no character development. There isn't even a good plot to make up for it. It was basically a book of all filler and no real content. I kept zoning out because what was going on had little to do with story. I had to force myself to finish the book over and over again. I have never wanted a book to end so badly.
For some reason I just couldn't get into this book. I didn't particularly care for the two main characters or the plot. The story was a little disjointed and seemed to stop and start a lot. The issues between the Gray and Dylan became a little annoying and monotonous. Also, new characters seemed to appear from no where, maybe trying to set up further books.
The first three books in the series were okay and showed some potential, but this one fell short for me. I think this is probably the last book I will get in the series.
I enjoyed this book overall. It had enough action in it to keep it interesting, but also had some decent character development. The characters had enough depth to to pull you into their lives. I will definitely get another book in the series.
The narration was okay, but narrator has some speech quirks that get on my nerves a little. After I got into the story I was able to ignore them.
