I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I didn't want to stop listening and finished it very quickly. I will definitely be getting the first book in the series and any other books that come out.
I enjoyed this book overall. It had enough action in it to keep it interesting, but also had some decent character development. The characters had enough depth to to pull you into their lives. I will definitely get another book in the series.
The narration was okay, but narrator has some speech quirks that get on my nerves a little. After I got into the story I was able to ignore them.
I like this series, but this book was a little boring compared to the others. The characters were okay, but didn't have much personality. There also wasn't much of a story line. It took me a long time to finish.
I normally love Christine Warren, but this book was one of my least favorites. Maybe because the author was trying to establish the new series, there was very little story line and just a lot of background information. I'm hoping the next books in the series are better. I'll still get the next book.
The narrator wasn't very convincing as the guy. It was a really fake sounding girl interpretation of a guy's voice.
This is closer to a novella than a full novel. It was extremely short and I feel a little cheated that I paid so much for it. However, it was a steamy little story that could be really developed into a great series.
This book was okay, but nothing special. On the good side, it held my attention and I didn't think about returning it. However, it took me much longer to get through it because I wasn't driven to keep listening. The two main issues I had were a lack of real plot and lack of character development. It was just a series of kidnappings that were pretty random with little build up or background. The two main characters were underdeveloped, especially the guy. There was also no development between the two characters and their relationship.....he kidnapped her and made her "his"....end of development.
The narration was "just okay" as well. I have heard much better and much worse.
I won't be getting the next book in the series.
This was such a cute, funny, and sweet book! I didn't want to stop listening at all. The main characters are complete opposites. She is flaky, personable, and hyper (sometimes annoying), while he is OCD, rigid, and unfriendly. It is hilarious to hear her mess with him so much and turn his life upside down. I laughed throughout the book.
This was overall a decent book, and the start of a potentially strong series. My only issue was a lack of development between the two main characters. They went from 0 to 60 with very few interactions or even "moving" interactions. I think the author focused more on setting the stage for future books and characters, making the main character development suffer a little. However, I am definitely getting the next book in the series with hopes that it offers a little more interaction.
I have no complaints about this book. The characters were likable and the story line had a good pace. The narration was good as well. It might have been a little predictable, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment.
I almost turned this book of several times throughout the first couple of chapters. The narrator has a really annoying voice, uses the same cadence for every sentence, mispronounces multiple words, and reads soooo slowly!! Once I got "involved" in the story, I was able to get over the narration and focus on the story.
Surprisingly, the book had a decent story line (for a shifter romance book). It wasn't just about the sex, even though there was plenty of that. I'm considering getting another book in the series (if there is a different narrator).
This book was basically just a string of sex scenes with very little story line. It had so much potential and could be a great series if the author would focus more on the plot rather than the sex. The other problem I had with the book was the borderline rape scenarios.
With all of that said, I have to admit that I was still somewhat hooked on the book and didn't want to stop listening. There was enough tension between the characters to keep me engaged. I convinced myself that this would be the only book in the series that I buy until I got to the Epilogue and am seriously considering listening to the next book in the series. Maybe I'll give it a second chance and hope for a little more story.
The narration was fine. I don't have any complaints about it specifically, but can't give it 5 stars when I have heard exceptional narrations of books.
