When a much disliked visiting servant disappears without trace after playing Santa Claus, foul play is at once suspected - and suspicion falls on the guests. The very thought that such a respectable bunch would commit murder seems like a heresy.

Would you consider the audio edition of Tied Up in Tinsel to be better than the print version?

I have no read the print version, but thoroughly enjoyed the narrator's rendition of the book.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot did not keep me on the edge of my seat, but I was entertained by the unique plot. I am an Agatha Christie buff and found it harder to figure out than her plots. Liked the idea of having former confirmed murderers among the suspects of he crime.

What does James Saxon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great voices. Brings depth to the characters.

    Any additional comments?

A nice book to read around Christmas time.

Bitter and merciless war is coming to the frozen north. It's bloody and dangerous and the Union army, split by politics and hamstrung by incompetence, is unprepared for the slaughter that's coming. Lacking experience, training, and in some cases even weapons, the army is scarcely equipped to repel Bethod's scouts, let alone his elite forces. In the heat-ravaged south, the Gurkish are massing to assault the city of Dagoska, defended by Inquisitor Glokta.

Would you listen to Before They Are Hanged again? Why?

Yes, I would. I like this series. It is filled with intrigue. Though a little violent at times and not as sophisticated of a series as A Song of Ice and Fire, it is still decently written. Really one of the better books in the adventure fantasy genre. For people who like GRRM and ASOIAF.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters are not one dimensional and there is complexity to their relationships.

Which character – as performed by Steven Pacey – was your favorite?

I like the Named Men who are the old companions of The Bloody Nine: The Dogman, Three Trees, Black Dow...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions, just pleasantly enjoyable. A guilty pleasure, really.
