"page turner"
This book had fascinating characters and situations that absorbed me for hours. At the end I really wanted to know what was going to happen next.
"found every excuse to listen"
This was a very suspenseful story that kept me listening for hours. The narrator was believable for all of the characters.
"Irritating characters"
I don't think I've ever given up on an Audible book so soon. The characters were so irritating, and I didn't care what happened to any of them. The story was not compelling, either. I was really disappointed, because I recently listened to Tell No One by the same author, and loved it.
"Radio drama"
I love these audiobooks that are like the old-time radio shows with different readers for each role. It's much more absorbing than a single reader. The Charles Paris character seems a little dated, but the story moved along quickly and the dialog was witty. I wish there was a greater variety of BBC Radio Crimes.
"great narrator, so-so writing"
The build-up was too slow, finally leading to disturbingly graphic scenes of violence, and reasonably riveting climax. The narrator couldn't be better at handling the variety of characters. The story actually only became interesting to me at the very end, but I can't say why because that would give away the ending.
"Good story, bad narration"
The story held my interest but the narration sounded like a computer voice.
