"Surprising Continuation to the Trilogy"
I was surprised to find that it may be my favorite book of the series, so far. With so much reference to
"It's like being tucked in by Capt'n Zapp Brannigan"
I tried to like this book, I really did. I have heard so many good things about the book, but I just couldn't get past the narration. I hate to reference Futurama in a serious review, but Tom Weiner sounds like Captain Zapp Brannigan. It was amusing for the first couple of minutes, but it wore thin. He drags out the last word in every sentence and raises his pitch like he's asking a question. It works ok for dialogue, but not for narration. He also pauses at odd times making it sound like he’s reading the book for the first time. I don’t know if that’s why I found the jokes to be grating on my nerves; maybe I just don’t care for Heinlein's style. I’ll try reading one of his books and see if I like it. I won’t be buying any more books narrated by Tom Weiner.I tried to like this book, I really did. I have heard so many good things about the book, but I just couldn't get past the narration.
