Chronicling his embodiment of the American Dream, Total Recall covers Schwarzenegger's high-stakes journey to the United States, from creating the international bodybuilding industry out of the sands of Venice Beach, to breathing life into cinema's most iconic characters, and becoming one of the leading political figures of our time. Proud of his accomplishments and honest about his regrets, Schwarzenegger spares nothing in sharing his amazing story.

What at amazing man Arnold is! He was able to conquer so many things in life out of sheer will and determination! His work ethic is so admirable. I found the part about his California governship to be a little slow, but other than that, this book was extremely entertaining. An added bonus is that the author reads the first and last chapters of the book.

Elvis Presley and Graceland were fixtures in the life of Ginger Alden, having been born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. But she had no idea that she would play a part in that enduring legacy - as Elvis Presley’s fiancée, and his last great love. For over three decades Ginger has held the truth of their relationship close to her heart. Now she shares her unique story, and while a lot has been written about the King, the Elvis we meet in this long-anticipated memoir is a revelation.

Ginger Alden deserves the same amount of respect awarded to Priscilla Presley. Even though she was not officially married to Elvis, Ginger was his choice at the time of his death. Ginger's story is fascinating. She did not chase Elvis, he chased her. Her book gives insight into the last months of Elvis' life. She does a great job at reading her story as well.

Naked Lunch is one of the most important novels of the 20th century, a book that redefined not just literature but American culture. An unnerving tale of a narcotics addict unmoored in New York, Tangiers, and, ultimately, a nightmarish wasteland known as Interzone.

Hollywood was built on beautiful and complicated matinee idols: James Dean and Marlon Brando are classic examples, but in the 1990s, the actor who embodied that archetype was River Phoenix. As the brightly colored 1980s wound down, a new crew of leading men began to appear on movie screens. Hailed for their acting prowess and admired for choosing meaty roles, actors such as Johnny Depp, Nicolas Cage, Keanu Reeves, and Brad Pitt were soon rocketing toward stardom while an unknown Leonardo DiCaprio prepared to make his acting debut. River Phoenix, however, stood in front of the pack.

Before listening to this book, I read the negative reviews of the narration. I thought that it couldn't be that bad because I had recently listened to a book narrated by the same guy that was good. But it was THAT BAD! I almost stopped listening several times, it was so bad. However, River Phoenix's story is so compelling that I stuck it out. What an amazing
    life, and such a tragedy!

Graham Greene’s evocative analysis of the love of self, the love of another, and the love of God is an English classic that has been translated for the stage, the screen, and even the opera house. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, A Single Man) turns in an authentic and stirring performance for this distinguished audio release.

Ulysses is regarded by many as the single most important novel of the 20th century. It tells the story of one day in Dublin, June 16th 1904, largely through the eyes of Stephen Dedalus (Joyce's alter ego from Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man) and Leopold Bloom, an advertising salesman. Both begin a normal day, and both set off on a journey around the streets of Dublin, which eventually brings them into contact with one another.

Love Life serves up another delicious selection of intimate stories and observations from Rob Lowe's life, told with humor, warmth, and brutal honesty. After writing his acclaimed debut effort, Lowe felt he had more stories to share and many more friends to introduce. The result is a touching memoir about the business and craft of acting, the pitfalls of success, family, love, and much more.

In Face the Music, Paul Stanley - the co-founder and famous "Starchild" frontman of KISS - reveals for the first time the incredible highs and equally incredible lows in his life both inside and outside the band. Face the Music is the shocking, funny, smart, inspirational story of one of rock’s most enduring icons and the group he helped create, define, and immortalize. Stanley mixes compelling personal revelations and gripping, gritty war stories that will surprise even the most steadfast member of the KISS Army.

I'll start out by saying that I've been a lifelong KISS fan. However, I was completely surprised by this book. Paul Stanley is a humble, sensitive, real guy. It is a real treat to hear him tell his amazing story in his own voice. I came away from this book a much bigger fan of his than I would have ever thought. He is a true inspiration how he overcame his difficulties in early life to rise up and be an extremely successful musician. Through it all, he stayed real and a very respectable guy.

This book was written a while ago, but remains a classic because of Sir Charles' insight of the world. It's extra-special to hear Charles read it himself. I always appreciate Charles' honesty and willingness to say the truth, even if it's not what everyone wants to hear or even if it's not politically correct. Very few people in the public eye are that brave.

His mission: transport the corpse of Eva Perón to a safe hiding place in the wake of her husband’s fall from power. But before Michael can comply, everything goes tragically, horribly wrong.... Fifteen years later, Suslov is a ghost of a man living off the radar - and the only soul alive that knows where Evita is buried. When a shadow from his past appears and asks him for help in bringing the body home, as part of a peace deal to end the civil war tearing Argentina apart, Michael agrees, hoping this last mission will quiet the demons from his former life.

Charles Barkley has never been shy about expressing his opinions. Michael Jordan once said that we all want to say the things that Barkley says, but we don't dare. Many people are going to be shocked and scandalized by I May Be Wrong but I Doubt It, but many more will stand up and cheer. One way or another, if more blood hasn't reached your brain by the time you've finished this book, maybe you've been embalmed.
