I bought this book because of the reviews. The voice of the narrator was somewhat irritating and may have something to do with my not liking the story. I listened to the first CD and did not bother to "burn" the remaining CD's.
Maybe. Depends on how many hours
Maybe. Depends on how many hours.
Good story, but one book too long. The story was not worthy of 19 hours.
After reading the rave reviews, I could only listen to 40 minutes of this book before deleting it. The southern accents were so affected (and, yes, I am from the south) as to be irritating. One voice sounded like a Carol Burnett charactecter. I felt like much of the dialogue was trite.
I was so distracted by the hippie hype and the rambling back and forth, I had no idea what was going on. Before the end of the first half, I gave up. Maybe I'm not such a great listener. Maybe if I listen to the rest of the book I will hear how the melange of hype and ramble result in a great listen. Please let me know if the listen is worth the time.
I also found it quite hard to listen to the story because it jumped around entirely too much. Trying to keep up with the time period and which character in what time period became what I focused on more so than the story itself. I would not recommend this title.
