Reading the cracked brown fragments of fossils and sequences of DNA, scientists have found clues that the story of human origins has more convolutions than previously thought. The account of our shared human heritage now includes more controversial plot twists and mysteries. Was the remarkable seven-million-year-old skull found in July 2002 in Chad really one of our first forebears, or a distant dead-end cousin with precociously evolved features?

    Mike says: "Excellent, informative, concise"
    "Too Technical"

People are talking. The Da Vinci Code has been on The New York Times best seller list for almost a year and is raising a variety of responses from Christians and non-Christians alike. Some are outraged and upset by the claims of Dan Brown, while others are left utterly confused and don't know what to believe.

    Michael says: "Well done"
    "Poorly Written Christian Propaganda"
    Overall

Read in an incredulous tone, this book is choked full of one fallacious argument after a next. Additionally when a point refuted, it done in such a cursory fashion you have to be a theology scholar to keep up. If you want a good educational book, buy one of Paul Strathern's 90 minute series.

Frank Herbert's Dune is one of the grandest epics in the annals of imaginative literature. Now Herbert's son, Brian, working with Kevin J. Anderson and using Frank Herbert's own notes, reveals a pivotal epoch in the history of the Dune universe: the Butlerian Jihad, the war that was fought ten thousand years before the events of Dune - the war in which humans wrested their freedom from "thinking machines."

Brian says: "enoyed premise but not execution"
    "Dune: The Butlerian Jihad(Unabridged)"
    Overall

As a fan of the Dune series I always wondered what the pre-history was. I throughly enjoyed this audiobook
