    This is a very strange book. It mixes the most unscientific anecdotal stories with seemingly endless descriptions of bird brain neurobiology into a mix that simply didn't work for me. One minute you are reading some charming anecdote about a raven and almost in mid-sentence you are dumped into long descriptions of neurotrasnmitters and brain structures.

    The voice of the narrator was excellent when playing male characters like Holmes or Watson. However his attempt at female voices is irritatingly falsetto. I hated it. It would be better to read them as a male voice.

    In The Black Swan Taleb outlined a problem, and in Antifragile he offers a definitive solution: how to gain from disorder and chaos while being protected from fragilities and adverse events. For what Taleb calls the "antifragile" is actually beyond the robust, because it benefits from shocks, uncertainty, and stressors, just as human bones get stronger when subjected to stress and tension. The antifragile needs disorder in order to survive and flourish. Taleb stands uncertainty on its head, making it desirable, even necessary, and proposes that things be built in an antifragile manner.

    What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

    There is incredible insight about the way the world works in this book. It is not a light and breezy read. You have to think and think hard when you read it. So this is a thinking person's book and if that is not what you are looking for then skip it.

    This is a very different book than the usual pap you will read so I suggest you make a very value-adding exchange - shell out the price of a lunch and buy this book.
