This woman does such a remarkable job with all these Anne Perry Thomas & Charlotte Pitt books, I just have to write a comment. The author spends more time in this series of her books than in others reading expressions and tone of voice in the characters the Point-of-View character is studying, and Davinia has a way of capturing all of that. She is rather remarkable in her talent, and her voice is very pleasant, taking on different tones and accents for the characters. I really enjoy her reading, which is more like acting, of these books and I intend on going through the entire series, they are so well done.
I am loving the entire series of books, and was thrilled to learn Peter Jackson has bought the wrights to make "His Majesty's Dragon" into a film! This book his hard on Temeraire and Captain Lawrence, but their love and dedication carry them through. It's colorful and brilliantly plotted out, and we get to see more of the world in which they live.
Lawrence - he always does the right thing
Danger at every turn.
In this installment, Temeraire and Captain Lawrence take a journey into what may be the end of their relationship. There is a constant threat of seperation, but also a peek into what life was like for the Chinese in the early 1800's in this alternate universe. Very interesting and compelling, I would highly reccomend this book and series.
Temerarie and Lawrence are my favorite, they are the leads and always interesting.
Yes. I ended up buying the next two books in this series and I love them. The author does a great job, very enjoyable, and the reader has just the right tone.
I liked best the relationships between the Lawrence and Temeraire, but also between all the characters.
He does all the voices, but the voice of the 2 lead characters are especially right on target.
Yes, but I haven't the time to hear it all at once.
I've highly reccomended it to others.
Not as dynamic and compelling as Mr. Weber's Honor Harrington series, still this first book in the Prince Roger series introduces us to a young man who lives in a very interesting galaxy. The story draws us in more as we encounter the characters who are in his orbit and the inhabitants of the planet they all find themselves on. The books ends rather abruptly.
Once again Laurie R. King guides us into the life of Mary Russell, Sherlock Holmes and Mycroft Holmes, as the trio, along with family and friends, are hunted and manipulated by the gray threat they can sense, but not identify. Into this comes the Green Man, a charming and mysterious stranger who comes to the rescue when least expected.
