When Shelly Brockman walked into his office, Sheriff Dare Westmoreland could almost taste the sweet, steamy passion they'd once shared. Then Shelly informed him he was the father of her son, the unruly preteen he'd arrested that day, and his fantasies turned to fury!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Maybe a teenager for the storyline but it was too sexual for a young teen.

What could Brenda Jackson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I just make a bad decision to purchase this book. Some that like this type book may find it okay.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Madison Vaughn?

    Anyone

What character would you cut from A Little Dare?

Boring and predictable. Too much boring sex.

This is the story of William Shatner’s half-century career and private life. It will take listeners from the streets of Montreal to regional theater and describe his early TV work and movies. It also includes stories from four series he's starred in, including T.J. Hooker, Rescue 911, Boston Legal, and, of course, Star Trek.

I love hearing William Shatner telling his own story but the producer needed to fix the audio. Bill kept lowering and raising his voice to where I had to keep my hand on the volume knob to constantly turn the sound up and down. He would almost whisper some of the parts. I understand it was for the drama factor but then you can't hear him. That part is very disappointing. But the writing and the book itself is wonderful Very much enjoyed the book.

He is respected in his community, tenacious in the courtroom, and happy at home with his wife, Laurie, and son, Jacob. But when a shocking crime shatters their New England town, Andy is blindsided by what happens next: his 14-year-old son is charged with the murder of a fellow student.

This book was a good story. The beginning of it seemed slow but once it picked up I was sucked in anxious to hear how it ended. As the book reads, I kept thinking about my own sons, wondering how I would feel in the same situation. The book was very thought provoking as you wonder how your marriage would survive, how to support your family. The book has a couple surprise twist that I was not expecting, making me want to keep listening wanting more. I would listen to it again.

What made the experience of listening to Long Way Home the most enjoyable?

This was a very hard book to listen to. Although it is a wonderful story it is hard to listen to the wrongs done to this young man. I would get so frustrated listening to the story I would almost come to tears.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Long Way Home?

The strength that Jovan was able to show throughout the story. He would get down but pull himself right back up.

    Any additional comments?

The first couple chapters of the book was poorly written and took a very long time to grab my interest. But hang in there, it get better. I almost quit listening but stuck with it and so very glad I did. It is an excellent story and makes us even more aware of the wrongs done in our justice system. Corruption still exists and probably always will. A handful of very bad cops sadly reflects on all.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I cannot imagine anyone enjoying this book. It was awful. nothing funny at all. In fact, it was really stupid in my opinion. but then I only listened about an hour. Could not take anymore.

What could Justin Halpern have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Made it funny or interesting.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Yes, all the above. Anger that I spent money on this garbage, sadness that someone can actually be able to sell this garbage and disappointment for the anger and sadness.

    Any additional comments?

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would shorten this book by at least 1/3. This story goes on and on and on and the same situation repeated several times. Several characters pray the same prayer many many times. I understand the author is trying to get the point across how important prayer is but to listen to this little girl crying for her mommy every other page gets very old.

What was most disappointing about Karen Kingsbury’s story?

Again the repetition of the same scenario over and over got old.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I did not care for the accent the narrator used. She had what I found as an annoying voice.

Could you see When Joy Came to Stay being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I cannot see this as a movie. It would be a very boring movie. Too drawn out.

    Any additional comments?

I have read many of Karen Kingsbury books and found them all very good and delightful and I could not put them down and anxiously waited for the next book, especially those in a series. But this one did not do it for me. Maybe reading it instead of listening to it would be a better read.

During his years in a neural-health facility, Pat Peoples has formulated a theory about silver linings. He believes that his life is a movie produced by God, that his mission is to become physically fit and emotionally supportive, and that if he succeeds, his happy ending will be the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. When Pat goes to live with his parents, everything seems changed: no one will talk to him about Nikki, and his new therapist seems to be recommending adultery as a form of therapy.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was okay as I was on a long drive so kept me entertained. The story line was quite different. Much of the story was redundant. The character had the same routine every day so we had to listen to him do the same thing over and over. And the football chant got old.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Not sure. I think I was disappointed because of the hype saying this was good. I was expecting much better. Maybe if my expectations were not so high I would have liked it better.

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Have not listened to this person reading before but I thought he did a good job for the story he had to work with.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

It is a movie and after listening to the book I can not imagine a movie. What would it be constant workouts and running and Eagles chant. No I do not want to go see this now.

This story was fascinating but I think Jaycee would have had a much better book if she would have told her story and let someone else write it and narrate it. The writing was definitely at the level of a student. Short sentences and not very descriptive. Also, Jaycee read this book with no emotion at all. This would have been a better listen if someone else would have read it. Under the circumstances she did a great job but not professional.

    Story
Would you listen to The Red Circle: My Life in the Navy SEAL Sniper Corps and How I Trained America's Deadliest Marksmen again? Why?

Yes, I would definitely listen again as I am sure I missed some really good details. The story itself is amazing how much these men give for our country. The determination they have is more than I can comprehend. I loved the book but at times Brandon came across as arrogant but then when I thought about what the training entailed one would have to be arrogant to get through it.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The description of how they were put in cages for training was really eye opening on the detail of this book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was shocked at what these men endured during training. I was close to tears a couple times when I was listening to the torture they went through.

    Any additional comments?

Some of the descriptions of the chapters by Brandon at the beginning of each chapter did not really fit with the book and was sometimes annoying because it seemed like he was rambling instead of prepared to talk about the chapter.
