When struggling riverboat captain Abner Marsh receives an offer of partnership from a wealthy aristocrat, he suspects something’s amiss. But when he meets the hauntingly pale, steely-eyed Joshua York, he is certain. For York doesn’t care that the icy winter of 1857 has wiped out all but one of Marsh’s dilapidated fleet. Nor does he care that he won’t earn back his investment in a decade. York has his own reasons for wanting to traverse the powerful Mississippi. And they are to be none of Marsh’s concern - no matter how bizarre, arbitrary, or capricious his actions may prove.

    "Awsome and complete!"

Would you listen to Fevre Dream again? Why?

Yes. The story is full and intricate with no holes in the plot. George R.R. Martin knows river boats and the period that this was writtten in well. The characters were believable and developed thorughout the story. The narrator brought the chatacters alive and real to me.

What other book might you compare Fevre Dream to and why?

None. This is a one of a kind story.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Captain Marsh taking his boat out for the first time.

    Any additional comments?

Heros taking the gifts of others.

The performance was good. I did not care for the story. I am usually pretty forgiving. I am sure some will like this but it was just not for me.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. Great read/listen a good mix of humor and excitement.

What did you like best about this story?

The mix of funny and serious.

    Any additional comments?

I found myself laughing because the lead character "Pitt" is a regular type of guy that responds to crazy situations like a regular guy would. The rest of the characters are not unlike the people I hangout with.
