Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life - dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge - he follows.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

One of the characters has a thing about capitalizing letters. The narrator, instead of just reading the words as they are (ex. "That"), says "capital T. that". It got annoying when a list written by this character was read

Was Paper Towns worth the listening time?

Very anticlimactic. I was disappointed with the writing (relied heavily on poetic interpretation)

She seems to be harboring a deeply rooted pain, a heavy weight of guilt, and regret. He knows he shouldn't get involved, but he can't help himself.

This book was good, although I can't say I will want to re-read it or even remember it in a few weeks. The way the author describes the main character's pain is very realistic, but the circumstances of the romance seem very contrived.

In the affluent town of Weslyn, Connecticut, where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection - pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises, not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth - at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she’s desperate to hide.

I was so incredibly surprised by this book. The emotions portrayed in this story are simply amazing. I haven't finished a book crying so much since 'A Time for Dancing' or 'The Fault in Our Stars'... SUCH a good book

The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee’s no ordinary high-school junior. She's a banshee - she screams when someone dies. But the next scream might be for Kaylee. Yeah, it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students.

Three hundred years from now, Earth has been rendered uninhabitable due to the technological catastrophe known as the Nanocaust. Archaeologist Verity Auger specializes in the exploration of its surviving landscape. Now, her expertise is required for a far greater purpose. Something astonishing has been discovered at the far end of a wormhole: mid-twentieth-century Earth, preserved like a fly in amber.

I believe I purchased this during a sale, and now I can't remember why it caught my attention. I made it through about half of the book before giving up. The main characters have very little personality and the clash between historical and futuristic fiction is not pleasant. The narration is mediocre and grinds on the nerves. Much of the story takes place in Paris, and the french accent was annoying and the "unknown" accent of the character from the future just sounded like she had a head cold.

This book intrigued me as the description seemed very similar to Anna Godbersen's The Luxe series, which I enjoyed. However, Vixen had three main characters Gloria, Clara, and Loraine, who all do pretty much nothing for the entire book and then in the last chapter all of the excitement and plot occurs. I was disappointed, but maybe my expectations were too high.
The best way to describe this book would be Chicago Gossip Girl in 1920s.

Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane . . . but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Maybe, it was a good enough story, and it wasn't very long, so maybe if you're looking for a short distraction

What other book might you compare Need to and why?

I actually think it's a lot like Twilight, but with better character development

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Julia Whelan?

somebody who has either lived in New England or at least visited and has witnessed a Maine accent

I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare, pushing aside thoughts of Alex, pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school, push, push, push, like Raven taught me to do. The old life is dead. But the old Lena is dead too. I buried her.I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame. Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bests eller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

Which character – as performed by Sarah Drew – was your favorite?

I don't care for Sarah Drew's voice, but I think it matches Lena's character very well.

    Any additional comments?

Very similar to Ally Condie's 'Matched' series.
