an excellent book~~all Karen Armstrong books are important vital reads in todays world. however the narrator is worse than bad. If it was just his dull reading, well alright, listen if you must, but his mangled prononciation of names and terms grates.
read the book. Better, ask the publisher to get another reader
now we must await the final volume in this wonderful panorama of a novel by Amitav Ghosh/
can be read without having read the "sea of poppies' but best to read that one first/
An excellent~~superb book and the narrator is one of the best.
That said i must also inform all those who purchased this title in the few months after it came out in october to ask audible for the version which is now available and is 9 hours 55 minutes and NOT the 8 hour 55 minute one[ only just taken down last week] which is missing part 4 of the book!!!
without the ending one is missing much of the story and would have difficulties continuing with the quartet--which i strongly recommend.
great book, excellently read~~~
BUT it is missing the vital, and i mean vital, opening "authors note" of 6 pages. This "note' is an integral part of the novel and the publisher, HighBridge Audio, has known of this ommission for years and should have added it in by now.
Have a look at the book in a bookstore so to read the few pages before you begin...
sit back and let it blow over you~~~
sit back and just dig it...really.
