This book was beautifully written. I was a little worried about the length but it was entirely worth it. These characters are now a part of me....one of the best listens....

On a cold and snowy night in 1910, Ursula Todd is born to an English banker and his wife. She dies before she can draw her first breath. On that same cold and snowy night, Ursula Todd is born, lets out a lusty wail, and embarks upon a life that will be, to say the least, unusual. For as she grows, she also dies, repeatedly, in a variety of ways, while the young century marches on towards its second cataclysmic world war.

Where does Life After Life rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really liked Life After Life. I'm not sure what I read, but I suspended reality and went with it and enjoyed listening to this book. Kate Atkinson is one of my favorite authors and I look forward to all of her books.

FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare is known for her fierce dedication and discipline on the job, chasing down the world’s most wanted criminals and putting them behind bars. Her boss thinks she is tenacious and ambitious; her friends think she is tough, stubborn, and maybe even a bit obsessed. And while Kate has made quite a name for herself for the past five years the only name she’s cared about is Nicolas Fox - an international crook she wants in more ways than one.

Would you listen to The Heist again? Why?

Scott Brick is fabulous and I loved the story line. The story was fresh, fast paced and entertaining. I laughed out loud and was tickled by much of the dialog and banter. This was an excellent book and I expect to see it as a movie in theaters in the future. I can also imagine the second in a series coming soon.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Scott Brick is one of my favorites. He is much more than a reader. I always scan to see what his latest book might be. His voice is that of an actor with no irritating habits or intonations. He brings so much to an excellent book, one of the best!

Meet Harold Fry, recently retired. He lives in a small English village with his wife, Maureen, who seems irritated by almost everything he does, even down to how he butters his toast. Little differentiates one day from the next. Then one morning the mail arrives, and within the stack is a letter addressed to Harold from a woman he hasn't seen or heard from in 20 years. Queenie Hennessy is in hospice and is writing to say goodbye. Harold pens a quick reply and, leaving Maureen to her chores, heads to the corner mailbox. But then Harold has a chance encounter, one that convinces him that he absolutely must deliver his message to Queenie in person.

You are about to travel to Edgecombe St. Mary, a small village in the English countryside filled with rolling hills, thatched cottages, and a cast of characters both hilariously original and as familiar as the members of your own family. Among them is Major Ernest Pettigrew (retired), the unlikely hero of Helen Simonson's wondrous debut. Wry, courtly, opinionated, and completely endearing, Major Pettigrew is one of the most indelible characters in contemporary fiction.

Once upon a time, a teenaged Kate Winslet (The Reader, Titanic, Revolutionary Road) received a gift that would leave a lasting impression: a copy of Emile Zola’s classic Thérèse Raquin. Six Academy Award nominations and one Best Actress award later, she steps behind the microphone to perform this haunting classic of passion and disaster.

I loved listening to kate Winslets performance of this very well written book. The characters were not very likeable and frankly I was relieved when it was over. Having given this lukewarm review I would still recommend it. The story has stayed with me, voices included.
