"The Fargos are at it again."
Yes, the story is interesting in a historical and adventure sense. The characters are as with most of Cussler's characters are well defined and developed in a way that pulls you into the story even if you are not normally an adventure book series person.
The fighting scene in which the Fargos are using cannon balls to fight off snipers. The way the Fargos ecape the main bad guys home on horseback after using flour to cause a flash over explosion to set the kitchen on fire.
Yes, in fact while at working doing the stocking at night my co-workers would give me funny looks because of my random outburst of laughter related to the story. I loved having the story going thru headphones as I worked through the long hours in the very early morning
"Good Story Dragging Performance"
The coming to age aspect of Kip in relation to learning and discovering a new world beyond his imagination. Founding out you are able to use magic by "drafting" light when you are stressed, running for your life from an invading army after watching two of your friends getting killed. Witnessing your mom die from wounds given to her by the invading, even if your mom is crazy and a drug addict messes with your mind. Then to top of the first part of the book finding out your a bastard to one of the most powerful men in the world. Talk about having to grown up quick.
I think Lou Diamond Phillips would have been a better narrator than Cristofer Jean. I had a hard time to keeping focus on the story instead of focusing of Jean's faults as a narrator. So it made following the story hard and thus less enjoyable than previously listened to books.
No, as mentioned due to narrator it made this book one that I needed to pause after awhile and ponder what had happened in the storyline.
"Kennedy gets in the action"
The action and the adventure in which we see not only Rapp involved with but also Kennedy. I mean, righteous, poisoning in the the Oval office. So freaking cool
Rapp-he just is so cool with a no BS attitude for politics or stupid things get in the way of taking care of business and making sure America is safe from foreign or domestic enemies
No extreme reaction except pure enjoyment and not wanting to turn off the audio and listen until the end of the book
As always Vince Flynn has taken Mitch for a ride and amazingly Mitch fixes the nation's problems and prevails in the end even though he may not personally get ahead or even come out even, for Mitch its all about America and making sure she's safe and sound and prospering.
"The campus continues their mission"
The Campus-an off the book all out spy agent created by Jack Ryan and now has Jack Jr. as and operator has to try and stop the URC and the EMIR along with another enemy who everyone thought was dead. They are being investigated, turned on, and outright plotted against all in the effort to stop Jack Sr. from winning another chance at being President a second time. This is another solid book in the Jack Ryan universe having all the characters in play the book can be overwhelming especially if you try to read it in 18 hours, I don’t recommend you’ll miss something and not know it until you start to read the next installment. Enjoy Clancy fans.
"Extra, Extra nuke headed for Washington DC"
Again, Mitch has to save America’s bacon and do it by wading, or in Mitch’s case shredding, the political landscapes. He will get it done even when the powers that be are 3 steps behind. Then he quietly gets a slap on the back and walks into the sunset until the next terrorist or radical wants to f**k with the good ol’ US of A.
"Chess team adventure"
Robinson has written another fast paced adventure in which super soldiers have to face supernatural forces in order to save the world. After a massacre with a lone survivor King is faced with personal tragedy in which he has no time for because the world has gone to hell. The team is sent out on a mission without King, but he can’t be out done because he has to save Fort Bragg all by himself. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a read/listen in which you can turn the brain off and just relax and have some fun.
"Kill Rapp"
Ousted as spy and possible an assassin by a mad Congressman, Mitch Rapp has to look over his shoulder and step into role he's not meant for, a desk jockey. Rapp has got a steady girl and a job he hates, but one she loves. Because he has been marked as a CIA operator Rapp is stuck behind a desk planning instead of doing the CIA's most secret missions. Well maybe. Again, fans of Flynn will enjoy the adventure, politics, and suspense in which he intertwines in his books.
"Cussler and Blackwood keep the Fargos going."
Another intriguing story with the Fargos sent off to help a friend and then find themselves having another life changing adventure. The story is mostly set in Nepal but travels into Asia and the surrounding areas. So for people who don't like books that take them away from the US then Cussler is not your author. Cussler makes an appearance as he has in the last several books giving advice to steer the story back on course or in the direction best suited to complete a task. I, again, would recommend the Fargo Adventures to any fan of Cussler and fans of the action adventure genre.
"Rapp takes on Hussein"
This is another solid book about CIA operator Mitch Rapp. Rapp along with his team of operators have to stop Hussein from building a nuke, and by the way he stills has to help fix things at home because a corrupt Senator is trying to his his boss (Kennedy) fired. I have enjoyed this series of books and am looking forward to one day Michael Bay or JJ Abrams creating the Rapp universe.
"Oops, wrong book"
I enjoyed this story but unfortunately I got the abridged version. I think the story would have been more developed if I had gotten the unabridged version. I do recommend this story to people who like Cussler's style of writing.
"Mitch Rapp does it again"
I would listen any of the Mitch Rapp stories again. Not only is the plot filled twists and turns and political along with military intrigue, Mitch is out killing all the bad guys. Mitch is helped out by a new set of characters who add an extra layer of kick ass to the story. This story and real any of the Mitch Rapp sagas is recommended to readers who like the military/political thriller genre of books
The no nonsense way Flynn writes his stories. He has created a hero who is American's answer to terrorist even if the people or politicians don't he out there taken care of the bad guys. The interactions between Kennedy and Rapp are some the most interesting conversations between a boss and worker, but Rapp will assassinate the people in his way and sleep like a baby in the morning.
Framed, Pissed, and out for blood, just another day on the job for Mitch Rapp.
