Signs that the recession is about to end are here. So what comes next? Growth will resume. But economic uncertainty will worsen, making what comes next not just a boom but a nerve-shattering Sonic Boom. Gregg Easterbrook who "writes nothing that is not brilliant" (Chicago Tribune) is a fount of unconventional wisdom, and over time, he is almost always proven right.

Based on the title, I expected this book to lean politically to the left. To my delight, it does not.
It was a well written book with lots of stats. I enjoyed it very much.

Russell Simmons knows firsthand that wealth is rooted in much more than the stock market. True wealth has more to do with what's in your heart than what's in your wallet. Using this knowledge, Simmons became one of America's shrewdest entrepreneurs, achieving a level of success that most investors only dream about. No matter how much material gain he accumulated, he never stopped lending a hand to those less fortunate.

Deepak Chopra, Debbie Ford, and Marianne Williamson - New York Times best-selling authors and internationally acclaimed teachers - have joined together to share their knowledge on one of the most crucial obstacles to happiness we face: the shadow. These three luminaries, each with a signature approach, bring to light the parts of ourselves we deny but that still direct our life.

    "Too many liberal jabs"
    Overall

The author is obviously a professor and his liberal views unnecessarily came thru in this book. I only made about 1/3 of the way thru and just got sick of it. There are so many things that one could use to make points which aren't of controversial nature such as, global warming & the Iraq war. I'm not saying that it was a politically oriented book, but instead there were just these unnecessary statements that some may or may not agree with that were mentioned as if they are facts. I don't know...its just bothered me.

Since the liberal revolution of the '60s and '70s, American history books have been biased toward the negative. They overemphasize America's racism, sexism, and bigotry while downplaying the greatness of her patriots. As a result, more emphasis is placed on Harriet Tubman than on George Washington, more on the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II than on D-day or Iwo Jima. This book offers a long-overdue acknowledgment of America's true and proud history.

    Overall

So the book is really good so far. I'm not impressed with the narrator. He reads very slow. There are times that I speed it up to 1.5 times & it still sounds ok. Also, maybe i did something wrong with the download, but it seems to be out of order or at least does not show up in a consecutive manner. It plays right, but its hard to stop & restart
