Rose Drayton lives on the Edge, between the world of the Broken (where people drive cars, shop at Wal-Mart, and magic is a fairy tale) and the Weird (where blueblood aristocrats rule, changelings roam, and the strength of your magic can change your destiny). Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next, but they never truly belong in either.

This looks to be another great series form Ilona Andrews. I enjoyed the complex world, and the beings she fills it with. Her main lady character, has character, and it's fun to tag along in her world, with her family. Has drama, mystery, romance, love, and an interesting story. I enjoyed the narrator, differentiating between the characters very well. All and all, is worth listening to.

I had put off listening to this book for some reason, I guess thinking it would be one of those frustrating books where the heroin always makes dumb moves jumping to the wrong conclusion. Not the case, Lacey is an intelligent forensic dental expert with a haunted past that is stalking her once more. It has a romance with a bit of triangle to it, but only makes it more interesting. The main theme is the 'who done it and who keeps doing it', and why now. I thought it to be an interesting thriller that kept me guessing.

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Luke Daniels sounds perfect for this character, a 21 year old druid (that's actually a couple of thousand years old). It's a fast paced magical tale with almost too many characters to keep track of. They all seem to want his help or our hero's head, or should I say magical sword. It's a fun read with a dog that makes the perfect sidekick providing comic relief. If you enjoy Dresden Files then give this series a try.

After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father's mantle - with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything - and everyone - at risk. Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it.

I've read all these books in order, and have to say this would be a good finale for the series. A good story of Wrath and Wrath's parents are told, and kinda wraps things up for the original cast of characters. Along with Wrath's story are other stories wound around this one. Xcor and Layla, Tres and Selena, Assail and Sol, all the males being in the criminal element. I just haven't gotten attached to these new characters like the Brotherhood, so that's why I said that this book is a good stopping place for me. All and all though, this one is not to be missed for BDB fans.

Katniss finds shes been betrayed into being part of the rebellion and must now come to grips with the fact that she is also the main hope of the oppressed people. Her life has changed, her relationships with Gale and Peeta have changed, and she doesn't know who to trust. This is an emotion filled finale, filled with battle strategy, action, and maybe a huge understanding of human nature, all through the eyes of Katniss.
Not to be missed by any age group.

Newly undead shifter-turned-vampire Kita Nekai is coming to grips with the reality that her cat has not awakened since her change. PG-13 style fantasy, complete with the hard headed heroine, that frustrates the reader from start to finish. She's a shape shifter turned vamp, that finds herself with a bullseye on her back with most everyone that she meets. Kitta doesn't want to be a vampire and acts like a spoiled brat most of the time, leading Nathaniel on and making his life miserable by rejecting him and doing as she pleases. Leaves you in a cliffhanger, that doesn't look like it will be resolved since the book was released Aug 2011, and the final book isn't on the shelf yet.

Weston’s father insists that private investigators Lincoln Perry and Joe Pritchard take the case to exonerate his son and find his granddaughter and daughter-in-law. As they begin to work, they discover there is much more to the situation than has been described in the prevalent media reports.

This is a PI team not to be passed up. Lincoln and Joe are a great blend of humor and humanity. Joe the calm well spoken of the two, and Lincoln dives in to trouble without a second thought of putting his life on the line. It starts out as a murder/suicide, perhaps a kidnapping involved with clues unfolding and danger getting deeper throughout, with suspenseful action and surprises til the ending. The characters of Lincoln, Joe and Amy grow on you, making you glad this is only the first of the series.

New Year's Day, 1990. The Berlin Wall is coming down. The world is changing. And in a North Carolina "hot-sheets" motel, a two-star general is found dead. His briefcase is missing. Nobody knows what was in it. Within minutes Jack Reacher has his orders: Control the situation. But this situation can't be controlled.

Another great Reacher tale, this one back in the Army. He's on the trail of a couple of murders that shouldn't be linked but all the clues head in that direction. Everything points to a broad conspiracy within the ranks of an ever changing military. A highly suspenseful story true to style as only Lee Child and Dick Hill can tell.

I found this to be a very good suspense/thriller. Patrick, now a reporter was an abused child, that we become acquainted with throughout the book, since he found evidence of a long ago missing child in his dead mother's belongings. The whole book is trying to solve the mystery of why his mother would be in possession of the medallion worn by the missing child. Patrick puts himself in deeper and deeper danger as he unravels the puzzle.Clues unfold and Patrick's tormented upbringing comes to light, as a killer pursues him.

The List is a technothriller about a group of people who each have tattoos of numbers on the bottoms their feet, and don't know why. One of them, a Chicago Homicide cop named Tom Mankowski, has had one of these strange tattoos since birth. When he investigates a violent murder and discovers the victim also has a tattooed number, it sets the ball rolling for an adventure of historic proportions. To say more would give away too much.

I would give this story an "ok" but it really wasn't up to Jack Daniels standards. The whole plot was really far fetched and just not that interesting to me. Abe saved the story though through comic relief. He and Roy made the book worth listening to.

I've listened to or read all the Jack Daniels mysteries and if you like them, you won't want to miss this collection. These give us a better understanding of the character Phin, as there are several of his stories included.
