A friend of mine recommended this - and I'm glad I bought it. This was alot of fun listening to. The intro is great, then it took a little while for the story to build so keep going. Also, you can't take it completely serious, this is basically sci-fi humor. I liked the way the author builds on the story of a complete idiot becoming President of the United States. The whole time I'm thinking how does this go? And yes there are some fart jokes but it's still funny (at least to me). After this one, I wish there were more of Tony Teora's books in audio format. I also thought the narrator did a good job bringing the characters to life. Recommended.
I hate to give it away but I loved the ending - I was waiting to figure out how this idiot becomes president.
Probably the big explosion.
Even an idiot can be President
I wish there were more books by Tony Teora in audio. I don't have time to read much and love the audio format.
I was worried about the other reviews I had read - apparently this book in the series was the first one recorded so the narrator hadn't developed the characters. Honestly if that is true it didn't bother me in the least - the characters all sounded like they had up until this point. Peabody especially sounded like her old Minnesota sounding self. Roarke sounded like himself too - maybe they fixed or re-narrated the book. I also will note that many of those reviews are several years old.
This was actually one of my favorite of the series. Highly recommended.
A great way to get into the Southern Vampire Mysteries
The climactic end scene
Sookie of course
Have a more interesting story. The female lead character just seemed weak to me. Not someone to root for.
The sex (most of the book) is very hot. The characters a little unbelievable. I think there is definitely an audience for this. The plot was a little light for me.
Not sure. It's pretty graphic. Will be interesting to see who and how they play out the scenes.
Just ok. I actually didn't quite finish it. Very hot and graphic bondage scenes. The new narrator (I originally downloaded with the first recording) is so much better and sounds more age appropriate to the character.
One of the best. What surprised me most was that it was a love story above all. A little different from other Stephen King stories but just as excellent.
The fight scene. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. And also the very last scene. Very emotional.
Excellent narration. It took me a few chapters to get into it but the narrator really brought the characters to life. A terrific story.
