After 20 years in Britain, Bryson returned to the U.S. and decided to reacquaint himself with his native country by walking the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine. This is his humorous, inspiring account.

Jeff says: "Wonderful book, but hardly abridged"
    "Bryson doesn't disappoint"
    Overall

This is actually my 2nd listen of A Walk In the Woods. I read the book the first time but it had been awhile decided to give it another listen. Funny as I remember. Lots of factual information about the AT and it's history.

Jason Bourne's nemesis Arkadin is still hot on his trail and the two continue their struggle, reversing roles of hunter and hunted. When Bourne is ambushed and badly wounded, he fakes his death and goes into hiding. In safety, he takes on a new identity, and begins a mission to find out who tried to assassinate him. Jason begins to question who he really is, how much of him is tied up in the Bourne identity, and what he would become if that was suddenly taken away from him.

Brian says: "I can see why it was free"
    "Should make a great movie"
    Overall

In all fairness, I didn't read the other books in this series, only watched the movies. This selection was given as a freebie. I'm not sure if the others were so tedious. Lots of action that will make for a great movie. There seemed to be a lot of unnecessary descriptions , "she sat in the red vinyl seat and opened the plastic-covered menu..." who cares? Sometimes, less is more.

The narrator did a good job. I was able to distinguish between characters.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

    Sara says: "A terrifying story"
    "Mind blowing"

Heart and gut wrenching at times. A very emotional read for me. Really makes you think. What would I do? How can I get my family "ready"? Everyone should read this book.

Baldacci does not disappoint. Fast paced, "what's going to happen next" read.
