"Sweet story but narration somewhat annoying"
The interpretation of Holden as Paul Lynde. I can understand why the narrator went this way, because the book really has great snarky dialogue. But as much as I like Paul Lynde, it is NOT sexy to hear the romance part of the book with his voice. It is really annoying after a while.
It wasn't really that interesting. The story and romance is really pretty lame. The best thing about the book is the comedy, it is really funny. I would suggest listening to it as a funny read with a little romance.
Diversified. He did a great job with the different charaters, but I just didn't like Holden's.
No, just let them be happy.
"Great book, great narrator"
Romantic action thriller
I loved the progression of the romance between Miller and Danny and the unpredictable turn it took.
I have listened to many of Paul Morey's performances and I love them all. His range and diversity of voices really makes listening to him a treat.
No, but I have already read the book, I just wanted to hear Paul narrate the story.
This is a great story and I love the MCs. It has lots of action and some very uncomfortable violence, but it is necessary for the story. Drug dealing is a brutal business. I really wish there was a sequel.
"Sweet Story but just OK narration"
Maybe
I did not like the narrator's interpretation of Dakota. He made him sound like a 10 year old girl. Dakota is suppose to be a 200+lb cowboy, WTF? On the other hand Wally has a deep baritone voice. It was weird.
Not really.
If you enjoy sweet cowboy stories, you'll like this book. Just try to ignore the high pitched voice of Dakota.
"Masterpiece!! Fabulous narration."
Everything. The characters, the story and definitely the narrator. He made the characters come alive. This is one of those books that stays with you for years after and you smile about it.
The Great Gatsby. The author is a master of the English language.
Dondi,but all are great.
Dondi. Although the story is not told from his POV, it is mostly his story as seen by his best friend Thomas Edward. Thomas' romance is also beautiful but it mostly a historical memoir about Dondi's experience.
This is one of the best books I've ever listened to and one of the best books period.
"Sweet, predictable story but horrible narration"
Maybe, sweet but predictable shifter story. But I would tell them to read the book, not get the audio version.
The narration was very monatone and boring. No emotion at all; everyone pretty much sounded the same.
Not really, I should have read the book.
It's obvious a sequel was contemplated and I would buy it, but not the audio version.
"Awesome Performance!!"
No, but I really enjoyed it the first time.
Both Griff and Dante are awesome characters. I really wanted their story to continue.
He did the Brooklyn accent fabulously. He also did a great Russian accent. He really made all the characters come to life.
I would call it "Smoke and Fire" I actually didn't like Hot Head as a title.
This was a great story. The only thing that annoyed me is that the angst goes on a little to long. At one point I just wanted to slap both MCs. But the payoff is worth it!
"Great book, poor narration"
I love almost all of Mary Calmes' books. Jory and Sam are one of my favorite couples. I LOVE Jory and the way he looks at life, he is so much fun. But I hated the narration.
The relationship between Jory and Sam.
I don't understand why they switched from Paul Morey, he was great as the narrator for the first 4 books. Mr. Gelder has a very nice voice but there was no deviation in his tone for the different characters. Sam is suppose to have a deep, gravely voice and in this book he had anything but. It detracted from the story b/c I have read the all books and listened to the first 4 books with Paul Morey. It really ruined it for me and if Mr. Gelder does the final book, I will not purchase it.
Absoulutely!!
"Very Funny"
I loved the sarcastic humor of the story. The MCs are very endearing. The narrator was really great as Mark, not as great as Tony, but still good. The story was OK, about average as a predicable romance, could have been better.
Mark, easily Mark. He made me laugh out loud.
Yes I did
I really enjoyed this book in the audio format. Strangely this is one of those rare occasions where I don't think I would have liked the printed version better. The narrator was funny as hell and I found myself laughing out loud. So fair warning if you listen to it in public.
"Good story but bad narration"
The monatone narrator. The narrator has a very nice voice, but he does almost nothing to distinguish the characters. It is very boring and not enjoyable. For example, Tristan and Will are British. It would have done wonders for the story if he could have done a British accents as so many other narrator have. This is good story, but get the book to read and stay away from the audio version.
This is one of those "bonded mate" tails. It has great romance and an OK, but predictable story. A little more action would have been nice.
Absolutely no feeling in the narration. And it was a bad production with awkward transitions in places.
I got this on sale so I'm grateful I didn't waste a credit on it.
"Sexiest Narrator on Audible"
The narrator, OMG what a voice!! This was a wonderful love story of two broken hearts finding each other. Woven into it was a great suspense mystery. Loved everything about it and would love another with these characters. It also has one of the hawtest romance encounters I've heard in a while. The narrator is superb!!
Yes.
