Gaiman is a wonderful storyteller and captivates his readers/listeners in tales that are chilling, moving, sometimes even odd but always, original. Gaiman fans have come to expect a certain style from his stories and Neverwhere does not let us down. Well-established characters, interesting side stories and is a great way to spend some time!
I really like the plot to Hamilton's book however as I said in last review, the sexual descrpitions are getting to be boring. The first 2 hours of this book was between Merry (main character) and Mistral--regardless, I will continue to listen as the author does keep the listeners attention.
Over all a very interesting author-great story with lots of jokes and silly parts however, there comes a time when the sex stuff if just too much and overdone. This is close to boarding on repetive.
Overall the story was well told and the narrator-decent. It was quick and easy to follow along with but just not that intersting in my opinion.
This is a good book if you are looking to listen to something in which your attention will wander or you put it down for some time and pick it back up. It is not "deep", informative or even that interesting.
The story is getting old but the author continues to write very well, interject twists and background information that keeps the reader/listener interested.
Interesting new perspective to the characters and actually pretty funny when author felt that the mood may be too dark or disinterested.
Well-it was good to have this storyline close-at least for now. The characters became to repetitive and the story line just a bit dull. The descriptions of events were generally the same from the author's previous books and the over all concepts; though interesting at first-have been overdone.
Will be interested to see what else the author can write about as she uses the flow of words well, adds in humor when needed and leaves enough information for the listener to wonder what will happen next.
This was the second book by this author that I have listened too and though overall I have to say the storyline is completely outrageous and sort of silly-it is interesting in a voyeuristic kind of way. Seriously. I do not believe that it would be possible for someone to have as much "passion"; as the main character is supposed to have and admit I am compelled at least little to see if she does become with child and if so-will she know of the father is. So yes, despite only a 3 star rating, I will be getting the next book-purely to satisfy the above questions.
This was actually pretty good. Some funny parts, interesting parts, and overall a good story line. I am glad that it was recommended to me and will try a few other in the series.
Another good book by author-better then the first. Quick, easy listening!
