  • Rest & Sleep: Soothing Meditations to Help You Relax and Sleep

    • UNABRIDGED (46 mins)
    • By Richard Latham
    • Narrated By Jane Warren, Richard Latham

Can you remember what it was like to sleep as a child - waking up completely refreshed and rested? Adults tend to get stuck in their own particular way of getting to sleep. This will help you break those habits with a little help from your imagination.

    Dona says: "Difficult"

Because the two parts are not separated it is difficult to get the full benefit of the recording. The first part is for short rests and once it gets you to sleep, it will wake you up again. Difficult to find your way to the second, longer recording, which is suppose to keep you asleep for the entire night. Would have been much more helpful if each part had been a separate download.

  • The Nazi Officer's Wife: How One Jewish Woman Survived the Holocaust

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 15 mins)
    • By Edith Hahn Beer, Susan Dworkin
    • Narrated By Barbara Rosenblat

Edith Hahn was an outspoken young woman in Vienna when the Gestapo forced her into a ghetto and then into a slave labor camp. When she returned home months later, she knew she would become a hunted woman, so she went underground.

Catherine says: "An Amazing Story & Narration"
"A Wonderful Reader of a Wonderfully Moving Story"

I have done Holocaust studies and this book helped bring much of my studies to life. Barbara Rosenblat's reading of the book was so believable that I kept thinking it was really Edith talking to me. I will probably buy the printed version for my school library.

  • The Lincoln Lawyer

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Michael Connelly
    • Narrated By Adam Grupper
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

Steven says: "Great Legal Thriller, Great Reader"
    "A Real "Page Turner" !"

What can I say??? This is the type of book that when you get to work, you are annoyed that you have to stop listening and get out of the car! If you enjoy John Grisham books, you will not be disappointed with this one. I am going to have to find more books by Michael Connelly and ones read by Adam Grupper. Both are suburb.

  • This Time Together: Laughter and Reflection

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By Carol Burnett
    • Narrated By Carol Burnett
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Carol Burnett is one of the most beloved and revered actresses and performers in America. The Carol Burnett Show was seen each week by millions of adoring fans and won 25 Emmys in its remarkable 11-year run. Now, in This Time Together, Carol really lets her hair down and tells one funny or touching or memorable story after another.

Robin says: "Do not listen while driving"
"Love Carol Burnett & Want Her Other Books!"

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this lovely lady. There are so many good books out there, that it is hard to find the time to re-read anything. This one is so good and short enough, that I am sure I will return to it often. I only wish other books by her and read by her were on Audible!

  • The Hunger Games

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Suzanne Collins
    • Narrated By Carolyn McCormick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Teddy says: "The Book Deserves The Hype"
"Good book, reader could have been better"

I read this book because I am a teacher librarian in a secondary school and "my girls" were starting to borrow it. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy listening to it, except for the reader. Her voice was too old for a teenage girl. I could get used to that, but it annoyed me whenever she read, "she said", "said he", etc for she always placed a pause just before that. But as I said before, the story was good and I am looking forward to listening to the next two books to see what happens!

  • Anne of Green Gables

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 2 mins)
    • By Lucy Maud Montgomery
    • Narrated By Shelly Frasier

When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables send for a boy orphan to help them out at their farm, they mistakenly get Anne Shirley, a feisty, independent but warm-hearted 11 year-old girl. Fortunately her sunny nature and quirky imagination win the hearts of her reluctant foster parents and everyone in the community. But not a day goes by without some memorable adventure or prank in the tragicomedy of her life.

    David says: "Magical"
    "A walk down memory lane!"

I hadn't read Anne of Green Gables for quite a few years, and it was a real pleasure to meet Anne, with an 'e' again. The reader was very good and I would highly recommend this book to all those who enjoyed reading about Anne in years gone by or to those who haven't had the pleasure!!!

I only wish that Audible had the entire series! I would love to start listening to Anne of Avonlea

  • Uncle Tom's Cabin

    • UNABRIDGED (22 hrs and 47 mins)
    • By Harriet Beecher Stowe
    • Narrated By Kathryn Yarman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Uncle Tom is a high-minded, devoutly Christian black slave in an "humane" Southern family, the Shelbys. But, when the Shelbys are beset by financial difficulties, Tom is sold to a heartless slave trader. Hailed by Tolstoy as "one of the greatest productions of the human mind," this story describes Uncle Tom's trials, suffering, and religious fortitude.

Brenda says: "Very Enlightening and Enjoyable"
    "Uncle Tom's Cabin"

This is a must read for everyone. It took awhile to get used to the language, and not to cringe when certain words were used, but it was worth it. A bit preachy at times, but the author's aim was to show "christian people" that slavery was wrong. I am sure it was because of the time it was written, but I found that even though Stowe was trying to prove that the slaves were just as good an anyone else, she could still be maternalistic when describing the slaves at times. I would have given the book more stars, except that the sound recording was old and sharp on the ears. Once I got used to it, and concentrated on the story, it was fine.
