"Narrator issue"
I'm very disappointed in the reading of this, one of my favorite Georgette Heyer novels. The Heroine is under 30 with a lovely, "musical" voice.
The narrator's voice sounds old, rather like Eve Arden, and just doesn't fit with the whole atmosphere.
I don't think I'll purchase any more books with this narrator.
"one of my favorite GH"
This has always been one of my Favorite Heyer books. The narration was ok. I tend to think of GH in female voices.
Not quite the emphasis I've thought of, but not bad.
There were at least 2 spots however, that there were parts of sentences missing.
"More Heyer books please!"
This is probably my favorite of Georgette Heyer's romances. It has suspense, humor, and romance. The narrator is very good. Voices are distinct but not weird except for the lisp of Mr Cheviot. I've read all of her books many times but somehow listening to them brings out points I've missed before.
More of the murder mysteries would be wonderful too!
"Fabulous narrator"
I love all of Georgette Heyer's books. Listening to them adds a great deal. This narrator is the best! She adds small laughs or sighs perfectly.
